A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
We are a quarter of the way through our school year! Report cards will be going out today, Oct. 18 via FACTs email for K-8th grade.
Please check for the email from Mrs. Ison about our Safe & Sacred program, and make sure you are ready to complete the steps after your child brings home their packet in the next few weeks.
School Pictures
School picture day is this coming Tuesday, October 22nd! Envelopes will go home this week. They MUST be returned with your student by Tuesday with payment enclosed (or made online). Retakes will be in December.
This is a DRESSY free dress day - no sweatpants, hoodies, etc. Nice jeans are OK. Students should still be able to move and play in their outfit, and must follow all Free Dress Day Guidelines. Shoes must be appropriate for playground/PE.
Cold Weather, Coats, and Sweatshirts!
The cold weather is here! Please take note of these reminders regarding cold weather items:
- LABEL your child's coat, jacket, sweatshirt, etc. Our Lost & Found already has a good collection of pullovers and water bottles without names. Save some money and LABEL items so they do not end up in the donation box.
- Dress for the weather! Our students will go outside everyday unless the "feels like" temperature is below 32 degrees. However, 33 degrees is still really cold, and students should not be outside in cold temperatures with bare arms and legs.
- Review our policies regarding sweatshirts, fleeces, etc.
- The only sweatshirt allowed as a uniform item is the crewneck sweatshirt with printed logo from Flynn O'Hara. It may NOT be worn to school mass. They are not available on the website, but we have a limited supply of new sweatshirts for purchase. To check size availability and purchase, email Mrs. Metz. First come, first served. Available in YS through YL ($22) and Adult S through XL ($26).
- Cool weather items appropriate for mass are limited to FOH fleeces with EMBROIDERED logo (1/4 zip or full zip), FOH navy sweaters/cardigans with embroidered school logo, or unembellished navy sweaters/cardigans.
School Rosary Next Week
Instead of school mass on Thursday, Oct. 24th, we will have an all school Rosary in the gym beginning at 8:15am. Please send your student with a rosary so they can pray along. We will have a limited amount of extra rosaries available to borrow.
Families are welcome to join us after carpool ends. After dropping off your student, please park and wait until 8:05 to sign in at the school office. (Do NOT park in the Eagle Cove lot by the Preschool 3/4 drop off). Please go straight to the gym and find a spot to sit on the bleachers. (Second grade will present their Rosary projects afterward).
SALT Christmas Orders!
The Catholic School of St. Eugene is selling Christmas poinsettias and wreaths to help raise money for our school service program, SALT. These flowers and wreaths are just gorgeous! Place an order online at bit.ly/christmas-salt-24. Poinsettias (red, pink, or white) are $16 each and wreaths are $46 each.
All orders and payment are due to the school office by NOON October 28th. Many families collect payment from their friends and family via Venmo or CashApp, then place a single bulk order (listing themselves as pick up contact) and write one check out to the school. Poinsettias and wreaths will be available for pick up at St. Eugene church late November/early December. We will contact customers with the exact location and time. If you have questions, please contact Colleen de Keratry: cdekeratry@gmail.com
Thank you!

Eagle Families with Younger Siblings - Apply Now for 2025-2026
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are open! If you have a younger sibling that will be ready to enroll for next year, you MUST complete an application for your new student. We are receiving many applications from new families. Waiting to submit your students application could result in there not being a seat available for your student! The application can be found on our Admissions page. Contact Caroline Schoppa (eagleinfo@steugeneschool.org) in the school office (Wednesday & Friday) with any questions.
Halloween Costume Collection
If you have old Halloween costumes in good condition that you would like to donate to Palomar, please bring them to school by Wednesday morning. There will be a collection box outside the library.
$5 Free Dress Friday
Next Friday the 25th is a $5 Free Dress Friday! Our optional theme for those who pay is to SHOW YOUR TEAM SPIRIT! This can be for any sports team. This is NOT a costume day.
Students in grades K-8 may opt to participate in a $5 Free Dress Day at school on certain days by paying $5 per student per Free Dress Day. Send cash or checks to school in a marked envelope to your child's homeroom teacher by the designated day for each day your student participates (or pay for all days in advance). Please send money with each sibling to make it easier on teachers as they collect and mark down who has paid. Free Dress guidelines still apply. Those who do not wish to participate should wear their normal uniform.
