π« A Note from your Administration π«
Hello, Husmann Parents & Guardians!
Thank you to our HPTO βand some Husmann staff members for running another successful book fairβ and Family Night last week! It was so great seeing βall of our Cougars and their families shopping, some Husmann staff working the registers, making crafts, enjoying a snack and listening to a story in the auditorium!
On βTuesday, 2/18, the 5Essentials survey window opened! Your child will be bringing home a flyer for the 2024-25 5Essentials survey. The β2025 5Essentials survey window βruns from β2/18 - 3/31.
Your participation in the parent survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Thank you for your consideration and support!β
βAs is tradition here at Husmann School, we will again be building in some incentives for our Cougars this year as a 'Thank You' to our Parents/Guardians that are able to take a few minutes to provide us with some valuable feedback on how to make Husmann School even better! Those incentives are 5 Cougar paws per student and as soon as the entire class has 80% of the slips turned in, the class will take part in a Connect 4 tournament with their teacher, Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Sromek!
Finally, β'THANK YOU' to our family members that signed up to help with our Valentine's Day parties last Friday! The parties are always a great time, and our students love them!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek, Principal & Ms. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal

βοΈπ‘οΈ Cold Weather Guidelines π‘οΈβοΈ
Due to the many changes in weather this time of year we recommend students are prepared for whatever the day may bring. Please make sure your child is prepared with a warm jacket, hat, gloves, etc. If your child wishes to play in the snow at recess they must wear snow pants and boots or they will be asked to stay on the blacktop. Due to rain or snow it may also be a good idea to keep an extra pair of pants and socks in your child's locker. Please label your child's items. The guidelines established by district 47 during cold weather are as follows:
- 15 degrees or warmer- Unlimited time spent outside
- Zero to 15 degrees above zero- 20 minutes of time spent outside
- Below zero- Students remain indoors
