Join our PTA TODAY
To encourage participation in the PTA, we’re introducing a friendly competition between grade levels. The grade level that achieves the highest percentage of PTA membership will win an exciting reward (see details below), giving everyone an extra incentive to join and support our school. On top of that, if our entire school reaches a collective goal of 75% PTA membership by October 1, we will celebrate with a special glow lunch for all students. This fun and engaging competition is a great way to build community spirit and ensure that our PTA remains strong, helping to support the many programs and initiatives that benefit our students.
If a greade level reaches...
80% = Popcorn and a Movie
70% = Popsicles
60% = Extra Snack During
Thank You to the PTA for the Curriculum Night Snacks!

Fox Valley Park District Play Based Recess - Coming to NYE on October 4th
The Fox Valley Park District (FVPD) Outreach's goal is to give students a foundation of play by teaching active games that can be used during recess. We will focus on activities that utilize playground equipment; jump ropes, balls, and/or other body movements to help get kids moving. The games kids play at school during recess offer many benefits, whether creative games that use their imagination or active games that work out their bodies, they all help children develop social skills, such as communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. Just as importantly, physical activity is essential for children's overall health and well-being, and recess is an excellent way for kids to get the exercise they need. This crucial component of the elementary school day gives children a much needed break and allows them to return to the classroom feeling refreshed and ready to learn.
2nd Reminder - Update from Nurse Kellie
Welcome to the new school year!
As required by Illinois state law, kindergarteners and new students must provide the following documents:
Updated Physical Exam: A current physical examination form - Certificate of Child Health Exam
- Immunization Records: Up-to-date immunization documentation
Illinois Vision Exam: A completed vision exam form - Eye Examination Report
Illinois Dental Exam: A completed dental form - Dental Exam Form
Please submit these documents to the health office prior to October 15th, 2025. Failure to provide the required physical exam and immunizations by this date will result in school exclusion until the necessary documentation is received. Currently we have roughly 10% of our student population who are NOT compliant. Documentation can be sent in students' backpacks or emailed to kelliejo_alleman@ipsd.org.
Additionally, to ensure we meet our students' health needs and stay in compliance with Illinois state regulations, please take note of the following reminders:
- Medical Information: Update any changes to your child's medical information as needed
Medication: Bring any required medication to the health office before the school year begins
Current MD Orders: Submit any new or updated medical orders from your child's doctor - IPSD Medication Forms
Before school starts, please review the IPSD Health Services webpage to familiarize yourself with when to keep your child home or when the school will send your child home:
- Breathing (difficulty): Your child is welcomed back when breathing is comfortable or as per the primary care provider's instructions.
- Cough: Your child is welcomed back when the cough will not interfere with school functioning or as per the primary care provider's instructions.
- Diarrhea: Your child is welcomed back when there has been no diarrhea for twenty-four hours without anti-diarrheal medication.
- Fever: Your child is welcomed back when the temperature is normal for twenty-four hours without fever-reducing medication.
- Illness requiring antibiotics: Your child is welcomed back when the child has completed twenty-four hours of antibiotic therapy.
- Not wanting to attend school (School Refusal): Contact your Licensed School Nurse, School Social Worker, Guidance Counselor, or School Administrator for assistance.
- Rash: Your child is welcomed back when a physician has documented that the rash is not contagious.
Vomiting: Your child is welcomed back when there has been no vomiting for twenty-four hours without anti-emetic medication.
Lastly, as part of our efforts to keep students comfortable and in class, we often face clothing shortages in the health office due to accidents like wetting pants, spills, or slips in mud. To help us manage these situations, please consider packing a small ziplock bag with a change of clothes for your child to keep in their backpack. This will ensure they stay comfortable and can continue learning without interruption.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students healthy, safe, and in compliance.
2nd Reminder - Are you planning on volunteering this year!?! - ACTION REQUIRED
Volunteering at school is a powerful way to make a meaningful impact on our students' education. By giving your time and talents, you help create a richer learning environment, support teachers, and enhance school programs. Your involvement also sets a positive example for our students, showing them the value of community service and collaboration. Every volunteer effort, big or small, makes a difference in helping our school thrive. If you plan on volunteering this year, per D204, you must do the following:
Volunteers are required to complete the original form and upload it into the Raptor system. The forms are available on the district website. The online form will make the volunteer process consistent across all schools located in the district. I have attached a flyer from Raptor Technologies that explains the program. Also, we will NOT be doing a background check, the volunteers will only be screened through the sex offender database in Raptor. The Communications Department will review and approve all applications.
