Hello Makefield Families,

On April 24th, Makefield Elementary School will once again participate in the “Take Your Child to Work Day” program. This year marks the 32nd anniversary for this day being observed as a national event. On this day, parents and guardians are encouraged to take their children to their workplace in order to educate them about the responsibility and commitment of work. This experience will enable children to broaden their knowledge first-hand about career possibilities within a friendly atmosphere. It also reinforces the idea that if students work hard in school, unlimited opportunities will be available as they enter the workforce.

The children who remain in school on April 24th, will continue with daily activities.

If your child is planning to participate in the program, please complete this Google Form

by April 22nd.

You must fill out the form for each child you have at Makefield.

As we begin to head into the last marking period of the year we have lots of fun things ahead that will require volunteer clearances in order for parents/guardians to participate. Things like Mini-THON, field trips, field day and end of the year celebrations all require clearances.

If you have not yet done your clearances or they have expired we highly suggest getting them done sooner rather than later so you do not miss out on any of these opportunities.

Makefield Community Outreach

Dear Makefield Families,

Makefield Community Outreach (formally known as the Sunshine Committee) would like to take a moment to let you know more about what we do. This program is sponsored by the MESPTO and has a mission to support teachers, students, and their families to ensure that the entire Makefield community has what they need to be successful in school. In order to reach our entire school community we would like to take this time to describe the resources that we have available this fall and winter. We will reach out again in the spring with more information about future opportunities.

If you would like to use any of the options below, please reach out to Colleen Wierzbowski cwierzbowski@pennsburysd.org. To respect the privacy of all of our community members, Colleen will be the only one to receive emails and requests. The committee will fulfill her requests, but will never know who the resources are going to.

In the Fall and throughout the year we provide:

The Nurse with new clothes for days when kids might need to change
Daily Snacks for each classroom like pretzels or animal crackers for days when kids forget
