TMS APRIL NEWSLETTER
April 8th, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Happy Spring, Amazing Titan Families! It’s so exciting to see our students able to go outside during lunchtime, enjoying a break in the fresh air!
Fourth quarter is upon us and the end of the year is quickly approaching. Since the end of the year is approaching, it means there is a frantic pace to get many things done, to include state testing. Please see the message below regarding AK STAR testing results from last year, as well as the dates for this year’s tests.
Additionally, we have class field trips coming up, the 8th grade celebration assembly is scheduled for May 22, spring choir and band concerts are rapidly approaching, and the final Title I event is happening on Tuesday, April 23! Be on the lookout for many more exciting events that your family can participate in!
As always, please contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback!
Karla Head, Principal
AK STAR Testing
The results from the Spring 2023 AK STAR administration are now available for you to view in ParentVUE if your child tested in Mat-Su in spring 2023. Directions on how to view these reports are attached as well as the AK STAR Family Guide to Assessment Reports. If you child tested in another district in Alaska in spring 2023, you will need to contact the previous district for results.
Please review the attached AK STAR Results Flyer to see the timeline from the Department of Education and early Development to understand the delay in releasing these results. You may also view Commissioner Bishop’s short video on Adopting New AK STAR Cut Scores at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEI4QPPcqL8.
Our Spring 2024 AK STAR testing will be on April 11 (ELA) and April 18 (Math).
