A Message from your Principal
Happy New Year, Columbia Crest Families!
We hope you all enjoyed a restful and joyful holiday season. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our holiday concert last monthβit was a truly magical evening made even more special by your presence and support. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the families who contributed to class holiday parties or purchased items from our teachers' Amazon Wish Lists. Your generosity and partnership mean so much to us!
As we begin 2025, we are focused on making great strides in academic growth, strengthening attendance, and creatively embedding more nature-based practices into our classrooms. While the winter weather may keep us indoors at times, weβre excited to bring the outdoors in through engaging and meaningful learning experiences this January.
A major milestone this month is our winter benchmark testing on iReady, beginning January 22. We are eager to see the growth students have made since September and to use this data to continue tailoring instruction to meet their needs.
Thank you for being a vital part of our Columbia Crest community. Together, letβs make this year one filled with learning, growth, and connection!

Dear Parents/Guardians and Athletes,
We are excited to share an important update regarding transportation for Columbia Crest student athletes on game days.
Effective immediately, transportation will be provided for Columbia Crest students participating in extracurricular sports on game days to Eatonville Middle Schools and on away-game days. This adjustment ensures all team members can travel together and arrive on time for their events without a requirement for parents to transport TO EMS OR EVENTS. This will not affect Eatonville Middle School Students.
The game-day bus schedule is as follows:
- The bus will begin its route at approximately 1:15 PM to pick up Columbia Crest students.
- Afterward, it will proceed to Eatonville Middle School to pick up the remaining team members.
- The bus will depart EMS for the away game venue by 2:00 PM.
This change reflects our commitment to equitably supporting our student-athletes and ensuring their safe and timely transportation to games. Please ensure that your child is ready for the adjusted pick up schedule and arrives at the pick-up location at Columbia Crest promptly when called by the the school Staff. This will not affect practice transportation on practice dates or home matches/games. All home games should still follow and ride the regular bus to Eatonville.
The bus will not return to Columbia Crest at the end of the match. If your student athlete rides the bus home from the meet/match they will need to be picked up at Eatonville Middle School upon the bus' return.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Columbia Crest office or EMS Athletic Director at (360) 641-1423.
Thank you for your continued support of our student-athletes and programs that help them to be good citizens.

A Special Dedication at Columbia Crest Academy
In December, Columbia Crest Academy held a heartfelt bench dedication ceremony honoring our beloved School Board Director and President, Mrs. Paulette Gilliardi, and her family. The beautiful engraved cement bench, now proudly positioned under our school sign near the flagpole, symbolizes a lasting legacy of love, education, and community.
Mrs. Gilliardi, a former Columbia Crest student during its opening year in 1951, was joined at the ceremony by her son, Chad, making the event even more meaningful.
We are incredibly grateful to the Gilliardi family for their generous gift, which will remain a treasured part of Columbia Crest for generations to come.

We are currently looking for substitute paraeducators to step in and support our school when needed. If you or someone you know would be interested in this rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to reach out!
As a paraeducator substitute, you will have the flexibility to choose the areas in which you feel most comfortable. Whether it's working directly with students, assisting in classrooms, teaching art or environmental education lessons, providing reading and math interventions, or supervising recess, thereβs a role for everyone.
