April 2024 Superintendent Update
Dr. Caroline Pate-Hefty, WUSD Superintendent
This past month we celebrated Whitewater High School juniors have achieved the highest composite ACT score the school has reached since 2018-2019. They achieved an average composite score of 19.1 as compared to a composite average score of 17.2 last year, an 11% increase year over year. The 2024 state average composite score is 19.4. 27% of the WHS students met or exceeded three or more college readiness benchmark scores—an 8% increase from the previous year. Our students’ outstanding performance on the 2024 ACT is a testament to the innovative spirit around success that we have at the high school; our educators are committed to continuous improvement. We proudly celebrate their academic success and commitment to reaching their full potential.

The Whitewater Rotary - Exchange Student Program
The Whitewater Rotary hosts an exchange student at Whitewater High School on an annual basis. A critical part of this program is finding willing host families from within the Whitewater School District families. Families come in all shapes and sizes; married w/students, married/no students, retired, single and everything in between. Rotary families host for a semester or a trimester, depending on the need and number of host families that apply. Your local Rotarians will meet with you to discuss the specifics.
Youth exchange helps broaden viewpoints of the events in the world and gives a student the opportunity to realize their dream of studying abroad. Rotary students are sponsored by other Rotary clubs around the world, are vetted and arrive with health insurance. They are enrolled in local schools, attend classes and are expected to attend Rotary events throughout their school year.
Contact the names listed below if you are interested in applying to become a Rotary Host family. We look forward to hearing from you!
