Principal's Message
LES Parents,
Thank you so much to the LEPTA for organizing dinner for our teachers during Parent/Teacher conferences and to everyone who donated food and other items. The whole staff truly appreciated the delicious meal!
We had our first Dine & Donate on Wednesday. Special thanks to Raising Cane's for partnering with LES!
Looking ahead, next Thursday will be our annual Thanksgiving lunch in the cafeteria. Our cooks go out of their way to make this a very special meal for our students and staff!!
Our “Grandparents and Great Influencers” event will be taking place at LES on Friday, December 6th. Each student will have an opportunity to spend time at school with a grandparent or another person who has been a great influence in their life. Each LES classroom will have a different time throughout the day for their special event and recognition. Grandparents/Influencers will check in through our gym doors and will be directed to their student's homeroom.

We realize it may not be possible for “Grandparents and Great Influencers” to be available for each student during our celebration. We’ll be working to make sure that every student feels included and involved in this special day.
***Due to space constraints, we will not be able to accommodate visitors for lunch. We ask that no younger siblings attend -- only adult visitors please.
***Please note that if a grandparent is going to sign out a student for the day, he/she will have to be on the emergency contact list along with a note or email from a parent/guardian. Time missed for the day will count as an absence or a tardy depending on the length of time.

Have a great weekend!

Science and Innovation Expo
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!
The state of Ohio requires that school districts provide an identification procedure for gifted/talented students. However, per the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are not required to serve. Click here to learn more about how Loveland serves gifted students. Loveland offers full grade testing in second and fourth grades. If students/parents/teachers wish to refer a student for gifted testing outside of the full-grade testing options, referral forms are available from the school office. The referral testing options will take place during November and February. Students who qualify for LES pull-out gifted services during these testing periods will receive their services beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like to refer your child for fall testing, the form is due to the LES school counselor no later than November 15, 2024.
