Students of the Week
Congrats to our most recent Students of the Week.
Students are selected based on their contributions to the school, excellence in the classroom, and their positive impact on others. Each week, 6 staff members are chosen at random to nominate a student who shows these qualities.
With great students like these in our hallways, the future is looking bright!
Staff of the Week
Staff of the Week are nominated by students or staff. See the most recent staff of the week below.
We are proud of our hardworking, caring staff!
Facebook Highlights
Mrs. Dhein's 8th Grade Science classes modeled how magma moves inside volcanoes and demonstrated the connection between density and volcanic eruptions.
Mrs. Miller's Math 7 class worked to decipher lengthy word problems to sort out the variables and make a succinct equation.

Staff Recognition Opportunity
I frequently hear from parents and even students about a staff member they appreciate and want to recognize. We have more formalized processes, such as Teacher Appreciation Week, Staff of the Week, etc. However, to provide another opportunity to recognize a staff member at any time please feel free to fill out this form. We will make sure our staff receives your recognition. Thanks for taking a second to shout out our awesome staff!
Discarded Library Books
We're excited to inform you that your children may soon be bringing home some special treasures from our school—discarded library books! These books are now theirs to keep. As our library collection continually updates, we occasionally need to make room for new additions on our shelves. Books are discarded for reasons such as being worn out, having too many copies, or having low circulation.
Your child should not return these books to the school library. Instead, they can enjoy reading them repeatedly! Then they can share them with friends, donate them, find creative ways to reuse them, or recycle them. You'll recognize a discarded book by the crossed-out barcode and spine label, along with a "discard" or "withdrawn" stamp on the first page. If you have any questions, please reach out to our school’s library aide or to our district library coordinator, Pamela Mumm, at pmumm@wbsd-schools.org. Happy reading adventures await!
See graphic to see if a book is a discarded book, or it needs to be returned.

8th Grade Trip to Mount Olympus
Hello Families,
We are excited to start planning for the end of the school year as we celebrate our 8th graders being prepared for their transition to High School!
On Friday, June 6, 2025, we will take eligible 8th-grade students to Mt. Olympus to celebrate their time at Badger Middle School. For students to be eligible to attend they must meet the following requirements:
Starting on January 21, 2025, until the end of the school year:
Students must not be suspended due to school-related behaviors.
Students must have no negative police interaction resulting in a citation or police referral due to a school-related incident.
Students can have no missing summative assessments.
If students are missing a summative assessment, they should work with their teacher to get it completed so they can attend the trip.
The tentative time frame for the trip is an 8:30 a.m. departure from Badger and a 6:30 p.m. return. However, this is subject to change based on bus availability.
The cost of the trip is anticipated to be $30.
Permission slips for this trip will be sent out in mid-May, and more information will be provided as the trip approaches.
We are looking forward to an exciting and strong finish to the school year!
Thank you,
Tyler Wood
