ABOUT WISE TIME
Wise Time is an additional opportunity for students to work on course work in a positive learning environment. Teachers will sign up students (or they may volunteer) who need extra, in-building time to catch up on credits/coursework, and who will utilize the Wise Time appropriately. Students who continually do not use regular academic time (not working on courses, habitual sleeping, etc.) or exhibit continual behavior issues will be uninvited from the Wise Time opportunity. Again, the intent of Wise Time is to provide an additional educational environment for students to work on course work. It is not time for sleeping, movie watching, or any non-educational purpose.
1. Wise Time runs from 8:00 AM ā 12:00 PM. Students must be in the building, ready to work, by 8:00 AM. Doors will be locked after 8:00 AM.
2. Wise Time will provide snacks but students may bring additional snack/covered drink
3. All students will enter through the back doors, by Mr. Weirās room. The back parking lot will be for student parking and ride drop off/pick up.
4. If students need to leave during Wise Time, please notify the JSOC office prior to Friday. If there is an emergency and the student needs to leave or be picked up during Wise Time, please email weirt@turnerusd202.org.
5. Students unable to attend Wise Time can contact Mr. Weir, by email, from 8:00 AM ā 12:00 PM, if they need help with something (bypass, retake, question). We can also meet on Microsoft Teams if needed.
6. Wise Time ends at 12:00 PM. Car riders must be promptly picked up at this time.
***Wise Time list are finalized Wednesday at dismissal. It is possible for students to catch up during Thursday's school day. For real time information, please call the office at 913.288.3690 after 4PM on Thursday evenings to verify your students expectation to attend.
