Campus Celebrations
We have so much to celebrate this week as our students continue to excel both on and off the field!
Band: A huge congratulations to our PHS Band, who competed at the State Marching Contest in San Antonio on Monday! They advanced to the Finals and earned an incredible 8th place finish. We are so proud of their dedication, talent, and hard work. Way to represent Pearland with pride!
Volleyball: Our Lady O’s Volleyball Team had an outstanding season, advancing to the third round of playoffs. They played great on Monday night in a tough match against Fulshear. While the season ended there, we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and can’t wait to see what they’ll achieve next year.
Football: The Oilers Football Team delivered a dominant performance against Fort Bend Travis on Friday night, earning their spot in the second round of playoffs! They’ll face Atascocita this Friday at 7:00 PM in Atascocita. Let’s show up and cheer them on as they continue their playoff journey!
Academic Decathlon: A huge shoutout to our Academic Decathlon Team, who took 1st place at the Friendswood Invitational, beating out 14 other teams! On top of that incredible team accomplishment, an astounding 71 students earned individual medals. This is an extraordinary achievement, and we are so proud of their hard work and dedication to academic excellence.
Welding Team: Congratulations to our Welding Team, who competed in the Tiger Tough Welding Build-Off in Rockdale on Wednesday and earned an impressive 3rd place overall against teams from across the state. Fantastic work by the entire team!
Thank you to all our students, coaches, sponsors, and parents for making these achievements possible. Go Oilers!

Spring SAT Opportunity for All Juniors!
We’re excited to announce that this spring, we will be offering all juniors the chance to take the SAT right here at school – for free! I wanted to share this with you early so that you can make any necessary arrangements, and to help you avoid paying for an SAT that we’ll be providing at no cost.
The SAT is valuable for all students, not just those who know they’re college-bound. Scoring well on the SAT can demonstrate college readiness and may allow students to skip certain entry-level courses once they’re in college. Even for students who aren’t yet sure about their post-high school plans, taking the SAT can be a confidence boost, reminding them that they are capable of success in higher education.
Additionally, the SAT is an important part of our state accountability score, which reflects how well our campus prepares students for their futures. With our students' best efforts, we aim to showcase Pearland High School as the A+ campus we know it is! Every score helps to keep our local tax dollars here in Pearland rather than being sent to Austin, so your support in preparing our students is invaluable.
Please encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity. More details will follow, but in the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions!
