Please help us to improve our attendance rate. It is vital that children are in school daily and on time.
K9 Tripp
Our SRO, Officer McCoy, brings her sidekick with her while here in Avoca. The elementary Mrs. Wood and the Middle High School Ms. Wood's classes both enjoyed spending some time with K9 Tripp this week.

Congratulations to our Page Turners for a great job at their competition on Thursday in Mount Morris. They showed excellent teamwork and bravery while answering questions on stage with an auditorium full of spectators. We are proud of all the hard work you put in.
A special thank you to Mrs. VanDelinder for helping our students get to experience great literature. Her enthusiasm will no doubt lead to helping our students become lifelong readers.

Middle High School Update
Archery Unit in PE
Archery is a sport that all can enjoy; it's not an activity that limits who can participate. It helps to build muscle endurance and flexibility, develops hand-eye coordination, and improves overall body strength. Archery teaches discipline, respect, and self-control - something that carries over into students' attitude, work habits, and other school activities.
Archery can also give students a strong sense of personal achievement. Girls and boys of all abilities can participate - and that's why the archery unit tends to be one of the most popular physical education units in the middle/high school.
All County
Congratulations once again to the following band and chorus students who have been selected for All-County in the Steuben County Music Festival today and tomorrow:

- Jayden Warner
Tomorrow's concert will be at 12PM for the bands and 2PM for the choruses at Arkport Central School.
Community Service
This week, students worked on one of the main pillars of the National Honor Society - service.
Students in both the National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society visited the Food Bank of the Southern Tier in Elmira to spend some time organizing various donations for those in need in our surrounding area. In 2020, the Food Bank distributed more than 17.6 million pounds of food and grocery items.
Science Fair
Congratulations to the following students for participating in the Alfred State Science and Technology Fair this year: Elle Anderson, Bryan Heale, Ellie Harrell, Vivian Crane, Isabelle Baker, Khloe Goodrich, Isabelle Button and Kansas Trinkle.

Finally, we are so pleased that the overall outstanding school award for the science fair this year is our very own, AVOCA CENTRAL SCHOOL!
Thank you to all of our students for their hard work and dedication! We are so proud of you!

Spring Sport Registration
If you've got a child interested in participating in a spring sport, PLEASE take a few moments this weekend to get them registered. As of today, we've only got 44 student-athletes registered, and this makes it difficult to make decisions for the spring season.
