LMS Weekly Reminder

May 30th is designated as an Asynchronous Learning day for Leonardtown Middle School due to commencement activities at Leonardtown High School and the use of the campus parking lots.

Below is information about the attendance policy and schedule for that day.

Laptops will not be collected this year unless students are moving out of county or state.

All other materials (library books, novels, etc.,) must be returned by May 31st.

Anything not returned is considered LOST and a fine assessed on the last day of school.

Yearbooks have arrived! There are extra yearbooks available to purchase for those who missed the online ordering window. The extended deadline for yearbook purchasing is Friday, May 31st. Students should bring $30 to the front office before Friday, 5/31 to be added to the yearbook distribution list. Please make all checks payable to Leonardtown Middle School. Students will receive their yearbooks on Tuesday, June 4th.

MTSS and PTA are joining forces to welcome Leonardtown Middle School's annual field day! Any students who receive more than one referral that leads to an in or out of school suspension will not be permitted to participate in field day! Please view the flyer below for a sneak peak of what fun the 2024 PAWS Field Day will hold.

The HAC Report Card Display will open for all schools on Thursday, June 13, 2024, so that students and families can view their report cards, and will close on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in order to prepare for the SY2025 rollover.

St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) and St. Mary's County Recreation & Parks (SMC R&P) have partnered to offer the new Summer Sports Academies. Campers will be instructed by area high school coaches. Camps are held Monday - Thursday. Click below for more information. Registration begins March 1st. Don't miss this opportunity.

PAWS stands for Positive, Accountable, Work Hard and Service. Our PAWS pledge is read during every morning announcement:

• I will have a POSITIVE attitude and treat others the way I want to be treated.
• I will be ACCOUNTABLE for my actions and reactions.
• I will WORK HARD, be open-minded, and ask questions when I don’t know.
• I will show SERVICE by doing my part to keep my school safe, help others, and contribute to my community.

This month, students are focusing on "Bathroom Expectations". Let's work together to promote efficient and responsible bathroom use at school.

SMCPS students can sign up for the following summer courses for original credit: Health 2, Foundations of Computer Science, Geometry, Spanish 1, and Spanish 2. This FLYER includes all of the details on how to register and course dates and times. Any questions can be directed to Heather Wysokinski.

There are so many fantastic things happening in our efforts to support SMCPS students with disabilities. Please use this survey to share your praise, story, or news about successes in your school or department! Parents, please share your appreciation for our special education staff members!

SMCPS is once again offering School-Based Counseling Support in the evening for SMCPS students. Counseling support focuses on the following areas: Healthy Relationships, Social Skills, Self-Esteem, Stress Management, Worry, Sadness, and Emotional Regulation. Services will be located at Margaret Brent Middle School and Greenview Knolls Elementary School on Tuesday evenings from 4-7:30 p.m. Please complete the Parent Contact Form for Evening Counseling to request services.

d. prepare and file all necessary tax forms, submitting a copy to Free State PTA;

e. submit a proposed annual budget to the LMS PTA for approval;
