Give to the Max Day
Early giving for Give to the Max is happening NOW and continues through Give to the Max Day on Nov. 21. Consider donating to the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation, a local nonprofit whose mission is simply to support all MVPS students. We accept donations from individuals, donor advised funds, corporate matches and donations via checks. Donate here to elevate our student's access to excellence.
Cell phone policy feedback
This year, the School Board is asking the community to provide feedback regarding student use of cellphones in schools. Nearly 4,000 people shared their thoughts in an online survey, and about 200 people attended community conversations. Survey results and themes from the conversations will be shared with the community in the coming weeks. This feedback also will be shared with an advisory committee of parents, students and staff for their review. The group will identify themes found in the responses and provide recommendations to the School Board. The feedback and recommendations will ultimately be used to help inform the creation of a cell phone policy. Learn more at mvpschools.org/cellphones.

Parent Toolkit
At Highview, we are committed to continually learning more about the developmental nature of pre-adolescents and how we can anticipate and support the changes they are navigating in their brains, bodies, and bonds.
Here are some tools (books and podcasts) that have informed us and that parents might also find helpful through these pre-adolescent years.
"Finding the Magic in Middle School" by Chris Balme
This book has become a new favorite for me as we all work to understand pre-adolescence and the magic of this stage of curiosity, exploration, and growth.
From Amazon excerpt: "How can parents stay close with their children through middle school? How do we help middle schoolers discover who they are, enjoy friendships, and manage their growing emotions? What kinds of learning experiences will keep them curious and motivated?"
If these are questions you're thinking about as a parent or caregiver, consider taking a look at this book. Find other book and podcast recommendations HERE.
Irondale Boys Lacrosse
Attention students interested in playing Irondale Boys Lacrosse this spring!
Coach Barry is hosting an informational lacrosse meeting for the Spring 2025
Season on Monday, November 11 starting at 7 PM in the Irondale High School Weight room.
No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn, work hard, and be part of the team. Coach Barry will be discussing the upcoming season, general expectations, and answer questions.
All interested 8th through 12th grade students and parents should attend. We are looking forward to another great season and would love for you to be part of the team!
Please contact Coach Barry at idblax@moundsviewschools.org with questions.
Slalom Ski Racing and Alpine Skiing
Do you love slalom ski racing or alpine skiing and are competitive and curious? The varsity alpine ski racing season is quickly approaching so it's time to start thinking about tuning your skis and hitting some gates. Registration is now open for the upcoming ski racing season which begins 11/11/24. Questions? Email coach Erik Saari at driven_esaari@yahoo.com Home Page (epaytrak.com)
Yearbooks
The memories. The friendships. The achievements. This yearbook is like no other, because your student is like no other. Save this year's special moments with a yearbook.
