Hawk Happenings: Oct. 18th
Holy Rosary Regional School/Juan Diego Academy Community
Message from the Principal - Oct. 18, 2017
Don't forget that today is a noon dismissal!
I am happy to report that we are all done with MAP testing and things are humming along as we enter the second part of Trimester 1. The nice thing about Progress Reports is that it gives you (and your child/ren) and idea of where they are doing well and where improvement is needed...while giving time to get grades where they need to be by the time report cards roll out in another month.
As I mentioned in last week's Smore, I will be having major surgery tomorrow and I will likely be out between 2 - 4 weeks, perhaps a little longer. During this time, Mrs. Farias will be in charge, so I know that the students and the entire school is in EXCELLENT hands. If you need anything during this time, don't hesitate to contact the teacher, Berenice, or Mrs. Farias. I will miss seeing the smiling faces of the kids while I am gone, but hope to be back very soon.
One last item, if you haven't turned your chocolate money in to the school, please have it in by Friday. Any outstanding boxes will be billed to your account beginning next Monday.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Katie Dempsey
Principal

From the Development Office:
Please remember to support our Annual Fund Appeal. Annual Fund letters and donation envelopes will be in this week’s family communication envelopes. We are hoping for 100% support from our school families and staff at amounts appropriate to their individual abilities. This year’s goal is $146,000 which is a 50% increase from last year! The funds raised support curriculum and materials, along with funding teacher’s salaries, and new playground equipment. No donation is too small. You can choose to make a one time donation or you can pledge a monthly amount.

Save the Date! Our annual Auction/Crab Feed is scheduled for February 10th. This is a very important event for our school uniting current school families, alumni, and Holy Rosary School supporters. It is a great opportunity to get your volunteer hours in and support your child’s school.
Each family has a $100 fundraising commitment for the Crab Feed/Auction that is due on December 15th. The $100 fee can be paid online or in the office. If you would like to make payments to minimize the impact during the Christmas season please take advantage of this option. You can pay the fee once a month in October, November, and December. Final payment is due by December 15th. Just please let Berenice know if you are making payments. The fee would be $33.34 per month.
Please see this week's communication envelope with additional details on the family fundraising requirements. Any questions, please feel free to call or email: Sarah McKinney smckinney@hrrsjda.org.
Thank You!
A huge thank you to Dr. Bridget Yaden for helping to proctor the MAP testing and to Dr. Yaden and her husband, Jeff Smith, for all of their work to get the Ipads ready for the testing.
