Annual Registration Information
2024-2025 MSHSL Fine Arts Judges Registration
MSHSL Fine Arts Judge registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open!!
For new judges - there are three parts to the Registration and Eligibility process:
- Create an account, pay, and consent to a background check. (See Video 1 below)
- Register for each Fine Arts Activity you would like to judge. In this step, you will also be asked about your competencies and experiences within the activity. (See Video 2 below)
- Complete the required eligibility pieces for each activity. (See Video 2 below)
For returning judges - there are two parts to the Registration and Eligibility process:
- Log into your Arbiter account and complete the Fine Arts registration (pay and consent to a background check - this is an annual process). Register for each Fine Arts Activity you would like to judge. In this step, you will also be asked about your competencies and experiences within the activity. (See Video 2 below)
- Complete the required eligibility pieces for each activity. (See Video 2 below) After you complete registration, click on the Eligibility tab and then click into the Speech or One Act Play box to load your Eligibility Dashboard. Then click on Take Test. If you want to come back later to complete the test, go to the Arbiter Central Hub view, then the Eligibility tab in the black menu bar, then click into the Speech or One Act Play box to load your Eligibility Dashboard. Then click on Take Test.
For all judges, there is a section in the registration titled, Conflict of Interest. This is similar to Affiliations. Please click on the dropdown box and list any schools that you are affiliated with. For example, you teach/work at that school, have children who attend that school, etc.
Required eligibility items for MSHSL Fine Arts Activities that you'll do in Step 3:
- Speech - complete the exam. The passing score is 80% and you will have 2 attempts. The practice exam is on the Arbiter Fine Arts Central Hub home screen. After you complete your test, Arbiter records will not update instantaneously; it may take a couple of hours to show your test completion.
- One Act Play - complete the exam. The passing score is 80% and you will have 2 attempts. The practice exam is on the Arbiter Fine Arts Central Hub home screen. After you complete your test, Arbiter records will not update instantaneously; it may take a couple of hours to show your test completion.
- We will be adding a new rules module for One Act Play. Under the complete One of the Following category, you will see this on your One Act Play Eligibility Dashboard. The One Act Play rules module is optional, yet recommended for viewing. See the pictures below.
- We have added a rules module for Music. Under the complete One of the Following category, you will see this on your Music Eligibility Dashboard. The Music rules module is required.
- Debate - no required eligibility items for 2024-2025.
- Visual Arts - no required eligibility items for 2024-2025.
Registration Information
The annual registration fee is $15. The registration system will accept Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.

Judges who have registered and completed required eligibilities will be on a list available to activities directors, those hosting contests, and section and state tournament personnel.

The registration requires you to add your social security number. This is needed to perform a background check. Background checks are required for all new judges and are re-run on 20% of our judges annually.

Registration is being hosted through ArbiterSports. ArbiterSports is the MSHSL management platform for MSHSL Sports Officials. You will experience some "sports-related" terminology and graphics at this time.

Tech Tips:
- The best browsers to use for ArbiterSports are Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. If you receive an Oops message it is often the browser that is not working to load the page.
- Make sure you do not have pop-ups blocked.
