A Message from Principal Wilborn
Dear Tiger Families,
We’re two weeks in, and I want to take a moment to thank you for doing such a fantastic job with our carline procedures. Your efforts in mastering the morning arrival and expediting the afternoon dismissal line have made a big difference in keeping things running smoothly!
We’re also thrilled to see our students already developing strong academic habits. It’s exciting to watch them dive into their writing and confidently share their thoughts and ideas in class. These early steps are laying a solid foundation for their continued growth this year.
As we continue to work together, please remember the importance of dropping off your children before 8:00 a.m. to ensure they are not marked tardy. Punctuality helps our students start their day off right! Additionally, please make sure to pick up your children by 3:40 p.m. so they are not considered a late pick-up.
Your partnership is invaluable to us, and we appreciate all you do to support our school community. Let’s keep up the great work!
Tuesday Folders are here!
Last Tuesday, your student brought home a plastic folder with his/her name on it. This weekly family communication folder will be sent home every Tuesday, and should be signed and returned on Wednesday. It contains lots of great information about class and school. Please be on the look out for these folders in your student's backpack!
Weekly Dress Code
Here is the school dress code and our weekly t-shirt options. Remember that students must always wear khaki uniform pants, shorts, and skirts. No denim, no crocs, and no hoodies. Jeans are only allowed on Fridays WITH a Milam t-shirt.
Morning Arrival: Friendly Reminders
To ensure the safety of our students during morning arrival, we kindly ask that you follow these guidelines:
- Gates will open at 7:30 AM for walkers. Please do not leave students unattended before 7:30 AM.
- Cars will enter the school carpool line through the McKinney Ave. parking lot and exit through the alley.
- Pull your car up as near to the alley exit as possible.
- Do not exit your car. There will be multiple staff members opening doors.
- Ensure that your child is ready to exit your vehicle from the right passenger or back seat door.
- Do not pass the car in front of you to exit. Please stay in line.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation in keeping our Milam Tigers safe, and our carpool line moving smoothly.
