Principal Message
BSES Families,
This week our kindergarten and first grade classes met for grade-level morning meetings that were planned and led by our students. Kindergarten students Colton Malampy, Sia Mehta, Taylor Keegan and Sarah Smith planned a meeting that included a backwards greeting, sharing a favorite game and playing Four Corners. First graders Everly Rutecki, Esther Hartigan, Zoey Hou, and Raegan Judge led their first grade peers through a would you rather greeting and introduced them to the Statue Snowman activity. We are extremely proud of the leadership skills of our youngest learners.
Everyone had a blast at last Friday's Snowball Winterfest. It was a night of games, food, dancing and fun. A big shout to Faye Steiger for taking the lead on this first-time event. It was a wonderful night for our school community.
Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow on this Groundhog Day morning. According to legend, that means we will have an early spring!
Take care.
Tara Allen & Susan Papson

Thank You Corner!!!
THANK YOU so much to all of the Snowball Winterfest Volunteers for making this first-time event such a success! This could not have happened without you all.
The decorations team, led by Keerthi Reddi and Sofia Bentioulis, hit it out of the park with all the lights, snowflakes, balloons and all the details that made the gym and hallway a winter wonderland which was set up and dismantled in a day’s time! Volunteers included Mariann Shahadi, Pearl Panichpong-Limson, Lauren Withelder, Jennifer Payne, Jennifer Young, Kim Powell, Thilanka Paranagama, and a special thanks to Susanna Dooley who designed and created the snow globe backdrop!
There was so much food that no one left hungry! The ice cream sundae station was a favorite for not only the kids, but the parents as well! Nicole Wolfe led the committee, and stayed on top of every detail! Thank you to Tricia Giancroce for donating the ice cream and Maxime Barry for donating all of the toppings! Thank you to Heather Benson and Heather Novak who set up and served the food the whole event!
Everyone enjoyed all the games, craft tables, photo booths, and of course the music! Games were led by Devon Trumbower, inflatables ordered by Brooke Banville, signs made by Sara Freedenberg, and the amazing craft table was generously set up and manned by Fely Macmain and sponsored by 4-H Youth Development, Penn State Extension.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who helped in various ways throughout the night, working a station, setting up, breaking down, wherever they were needed: Angela Tobin, Tu Thai, Kristen Flaherty, Dianna Dunn, Cathy Molique, Danielle Stracinski, Lauren Withelder, and Sara Freedenberg.
The Interact Club kids from GVHS were super helpful in setting up, during the event, and cleaning up! They were a HUGE help!!!
Thank you Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Papson for ALL of your support throughout the planning and execution, and for allowing us to take on this event this year and let our kids and parents have fun and socialize!
Last but certainly not least, our motivated, dedicated, reach-for-the-stars lead, Fay Steiger! She was determined to not only see this event get off the ground, but exceed everyone’s expectations, leaving no stones unturned! None of this would have been possible without her~she is a rockstar!!!!!!!
