WOMEN'S WELLNESS CLASSES
Instructor: Janice Pedersen, ADAPT Functional Health Coach
Janice Pedersen, a native of Minnesota, is well-acquainted with the state's hot summers and frigid winters. She values the warmth and generosity of her fellow Minnesotans and takes pleasure in both living and working within her community. Janice has a passion for coffee, engaging conversations, meeting new people, traveling, and hiking. Naturally inclined to help others, she finds fulfillment in supporting her clients on their journey to health and vitality. Janice is a certified Functional Health Coach, with a focus on supporting women in perimenopause and beyond.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM - Renewal Class
Instructor: Brent Woodfill
Cars, traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads you travel every day have changed. Some drivers aged 50-plus have never looked back since they got their first driver’s license, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from refreshing their driving skills. Learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. You’ll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing, reaction time, and much more. Minnesota state law requires insurance providers to offer a 3 year, 10% auto insurance discount to licensed drivers age 55 and older upon completion of an approved defensive driving course. The eight hour First Time class is required if you have not taken one previously through AARP. Bring your AARP membership card (if you are a member) to class.

In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. Learn to play piano the way professionals do-using chords. Since this class is being held online with ZOOM you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home with no pressure at all. And since this course includes an online book and additional follow up online video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. Students can also access monthly question and answer sessions at no additional cost. The course is part lecture/demonstration and part hands-on instruction.
Course topics include: How chords work in a song. • How to get more out of sheet music by reading less of it. • How to form the three main types of chords. • How to handle different keys and time signatures. • How to avoid "counting". • How to simplify over 12,000 complex chords.
Course requirements: Piano or electric keyboard, internet connected device (laptop or tablet is preferred).

Learn to Play Piano by Ear

Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class that is offered and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, and free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session.

Oh, the Suttons are just a quirky, funny, loving family. So Avery and his bride-to-be have to either accept their oddities or leave them behind. Well - the couple discover that you can in fact go home again. You just never know what you'll find!

GREEN LAKE "LITE" LUNCHEON BOAT CRUISE
Adults
Join the HWY 12 Day Trippers for a scenic and relaxing boat cruise on Green Lake in Spicer! This day trip includes a comfortable charter bus ride to Spicer, where you'll board the 55 passenger Fun Country Houseboat for a leisurely 2-hour cruise around the stunning 5,500-acre Green Lake. Enjoy a "lite" lunch while taking in the beautiful views of the lake. Green Lake Cruises has been offering memorable cruises since 2008.
While the boat features a spacious main cabin with air conditioning and two bathrooms, there is also a top deck, where a maximum of 34 passengers can enjoy the open air at a time. Please note that the boat is not wheelchair accessible, and the stairs to the upper deck are steep but come with sturdy railings for support. Assistance is available from the crew.
The lite menu includes homemade chicken salad croissant sandwiches, fresh fruit, soda and water.

GYMNASTICS MINI-CAMP

Instructors: Charger Gymnasts
Join the Charger gymnasts for an exciting mini-camp where you can jump, twist, turn, and tumble! This camp is designed to introduce basic gymnastics skills on all four apparatuses: vault, bars, beam, and floor. Participants will work on improving flexibility, balance, coordination, strength, and self-confidence in a positive and safe environment.
For more experienced youth gymnasts, this mini-camp offers additional time in the gym, learning from our high school gymnasts in a fun and energetic setting.
Please come prepared in appropriate gymnastics attire—leotards and tumble shorts, with hair tied back, no jewelry, and don’t forget your water bottle. Get ready for a fantastic experience!

This clinic will provide the basics of hitting, proper fielding techniques, aggressive base running and the technique of throwing and catching a softball. Charger softball coaches and players of the D-C Charger varsity girl’s softball team will assist in teaching these skills. Clinic participants will also be a VIP guest at an upcoming home varsity softball game. Please bring a softball glove, water bottle and wear athletic clothes and shoes.

SOFTBALL OPEN TRAINING SESSIONS
Grades 1-12
Join your friends in the gym to get a jumpstart on the summer softball season or get some additional reps in to help hone your softball skills. DC Softball Assn. members will be on hand for some basic skill instruction. Players can focus on throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, baserunning and pitching. The batting cage and pitching machine will also be available for use. These sessions are only available for DC softball players who played travel softball last summer or plan to play this upcoming season. Players must sign-in when they arrive and provide their own equipment (glove, bat, balls, helmet) and wear athletic apparel and tennis shoes. A limited supply of bats, helmets and balls will be supplied.

GIRLS COMPETITIVE TRAVELING SUMMER SOFTBALL

The DCSA Fastpitch Softball League provides an exciting opportunity for girls in grades 1-12 who are eager to play competitive traveling softball this upcoming summer. Our mission is to elevate the skill level of all participants while building a strong foundation for a competitive D-C High School softball team while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
Whether you're new to the sport or have been playing for years, this program is designed to challenge and inspire players of all levels. Join us this summer for a fun and competitive softball experience!
Teams are broken up into levels based on age.

- Practice Schedule: Practices typically held twice a week will be held at the HS/MS fields and begin the middle of May-late July. Dates and times depending on coach and field availability. Coaches may add additional practices depending on team/field options.
- Game Schedule: Games held at home and away sites beginning early June through mid-late July depending on tournament schedule.

DC YOUTH 7 ON 7 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Grades 3-6
This spring students in Grades 3-6 are invited to join the DC Youth Football 7 on 7 League. The focus of this one-hand touch football program will be learning football specific skills and applying them in games versus Rockford. Groups will practice together during the week and will separate into teams for weekend games. On April 13, DC teams will scrimmage each other. On the following two Sundays, DC will travel to Rockford on one day and host them on another, with the exact schedule still to be determined. Teams will be grouped as 3rd & 4th grade and 5th & 6th grade.
Equipment: Participants should wear rubber cleats, mouth guard and layers appropriate for the weather. Please bring tennis shoes with each session in the event practice is moved indoors. A team shirt will be provided for game days. Soft helmets are required and will be provided.

Join the fun and challenge your friends with a variety of tabletop games! Play your favorites and discover new ones—all with a chance to win prizes! Bring a snack and beverage if you’d like, and get ready for an afternoon of strategy, fun, and friendly competition.
Games may include Magic: The Gathering, RISK, Space Hulk, Dungeons & Dragons, Chess, Uno, Catan, and more. Have a favorite game? Bring it along and teach the group!
Participation in competitions is optional but requires a $10 fee before competing, which helps fund prizes. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, so students can join at any time. Don't miss out on the fun and camaraderie of tabletop gaming!

Instructor: Breakthrough Basketball
This 3 day youth and middle school camp focuses on developing the complete player. Players will develop their shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, defense, rebounding, athleticism, and other essential skills to become a great basketball player. Players will be grouped based on age and gender to start during the individual skill work drills. Each session is limited to 60 players.

Little Chargers Childcare offers wraparound childcare for enrolled Dassel-Cokato Play and Learn preschool students. Our program is a balanced, high-quality opportunity that provides recreation, social skill development, basic skills reinforcement, and academic enrichment. Our dedicated staff provides a nurturing and fun environment for Little Charger Childcare students. While this program is not an extension of preschool, there are supporting theme-based activities. Plenty of time will be dedicated to child-directed play, including input from the children on activities available.TWO Little Chargers Childcare Locations 🏫

Your child will meet new friends and gain preschool experience. The class schedule will include circle time, free play, snack and large motor play. Join us for a dynamic class where children and caregivers will engage in outdoor activities and stations during the first half. After an interactive outdoor circle time, parents and caregivers will have dedicated discussion time while the children continue their outdoor exploration. In case of bad weather, the class will relocate indoors to the classroom.

Embark on sensory, art, and classroom activities inspired by our weekly book adventure! Spend quality time with your child and make new friends. Midway through the class, children will stay in the classroom under the guidance of the early childhood teacher and paraprofessional, while parents move to another room for a discussion on parenting topics with our educator.

It's not easy being the Pigeon-you never get to do ANYTHING! But when the Bus Driver has a crisis that threatens to make her passengers (gasp!) late, maybe that wily bird CAN do something. Featuring an innovative mix of songs, and feathers, TheaterWorksUSA's live production of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is sure to get everyone's wings flapping.

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:
COMMUNITY EDUCATION: Cancellation requests must be received no later than two full business days prior to the class start date, or by the published registration deadline, in order to receive a refund. (Example: For a class beginning on a Tuesday, the cancellation request must be received by the end of the workday the Thursday of the week prior to be eligible to receive a refund.)
EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION (ECFE): Cancellations must be received a week prior to the start of class to receive a full refund.
REDUCED FEES: Families that reside in or attend ISD #466 and qualify under the free/reduced school lunch income guidelines are eligible for youth activities at a reduced rate.
- Pre-registration is required, unless otherwise indicated.
- Class sizes are limited, register early.
- Community Education reserves the right to cancel any activity due to insufficient enrollment. When an activity is cancelled, we will make every effort to contact registrants ASAP and process a refund.
