September Family Newsletter
Principal's Corner
Dear Hallsville Intermediate Families,
WOW, what a wonderful start to our year! Your students have done a fantastic job learning and following our campus procedures and expectations!
Now that we know the procedures and expectations, we are settling into our routines and really digging deeper into our curriculum. Every week, I email out a weekly update from the teachers with information on what students are learning. That's a great place to start to engage with your student about their learning!
This year we are also beginning Leader in Me and we need your help! From now until Sept 13th, we need at least 120 families to fill out the MRA survey to help guide us in making goals for our year. We're asking students, staff and families for input to drive these decisions! The link to the survey is below.
We have also begun some lessons on Habit 1: Be Proactive. We have learned the importance of being proactive vs reactive with our behavior and emotions. We have discussed multiple calming/self regulation strategies to use when we are feeling some big emotions. We've also learned about turning negative self talk into positive!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

2024-25 UIL Academics!
Welcome back to another season of HIS Bobcat UIL Academics! This year we have many returning coaches but also some fresh faces in the mix. If your student is interested in participating in any event, you can view the events here: https://www.uiltexas.org/aplus/events. If they would like more information, please have them contact the event coach or they can contact Mr Gerald to find out more. We will begin practices and tryouts the week of September 16 with final teams determined before fall break. The days and times for practices will be passed out next week. We intend to hold our District competition in January, but that date has not yet been finalized. If you have any questions, please reach out to the event coach or the UIL Coordinator, Mr. Gerald (mgerald@hisd.com). Please fill out the google form in the link below.
