What a turn out we had at Donuts with Grownups! We actually ran out of donuts, which has never happened! It was so wonderful to see all the families and kids chatting and catching up before school. Be on the look out for our next one! Thank you so much to all who came!

Be on the lookout for the Kona Ice truck tomorrow! They’ll be in their usual spot in the parking lot after school to help us kick off Fall Break.

What a week for conferences! The staff was well fed and it was great to see Camp Copper Mesa have such success! Thank you so much for everyone who volunteered their time and brought in food. We love seeing all the leaves on the trees for the teachers!

Boosterthon has officially kicked off!! You can now sign up for our Copper Mesa Glo For A Cause: A Cougar Dance Party! Our goal is to raise $30,000 for updated classroom technology with Smart TVs.

Mark your calendars for the event on October 30th, and all the fun starting when we get back from Fall Break, October 21st!

Did you know that one of our own CME families is the owner of the new smoothie and bowl place Rush Bowls (at 9579 S University Blvd)? They are generously offering Copper Mesa friends and families 15% back to the school every TUESDAY in October! Stop on in and mention Copper Mesa to support the school AND a local business!

The planning for our annual Son Event is underway, so mark your calendars for November 2nd, from 2:00-4:00pm! This event will take place at the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area. There will be a scavenger hunt, scat identification and a group game. If weather is an issue, we will reschedule for the spring. Tickets are $20 per child, and adults are free! You can purchase your tickets HERE. We hope to see lots of you there with your wonderful sons!

Calling all classroom parents! Are you helping plan a Halloween party in the classroom? Need something easy? Consider using MyClassroomParty. They have a full party kit ready to go that’s age appropriate. Two local moms started this company and the great news is CME gets 20% back on any party kit purchases when you use our school code.

Got a knack for party planning? Love reaching out to local businesses? Looking to get your hands dirty (We know for a fact there are some interested dads out there!)?

We are always looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, our Spring Fundraiser, etc. If you would like to volunteer with PTO in any way, please let us know.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.

The purpose of the program:

1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.

One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.
