We are BACK, Brookhaven Running Club. Our goal is for our students to run 50 miles this school year. Participating students will be able to run 2x a week on Tues and Thurs during their recess. The coordinator Mrs. Cecilia Sohi and her team will track the daily distance throughout the year. Students are allowed to sign up throughout the year. We have a plaque in the office that would LOVE more names to join our 50 miles. *Please have your student return this form to their teacher or office by September 20th . This helps with name tags and record keeping.
*Parent volunteer is MUCH needed. 9:35am set up, recess tally marks, 10:15 collecting tags and quick count. Any questions - cecilia.lod3@gmail.com
Permission slips are available in the office or by clicking here.
Brookhaven Music
On Wednesday, the 4th-6th grade students had the opportunity to learn about the music program here at Brookhaven. The flyer that went home today can be found HERE. In addition, the website to enroll can be found HERE.
Our first day of music will be on Wednesday, September 11th. Please let us know if you have any questions.
I'm looking forward to a great year of music at Brookhaven!
Thanks!

i-Ready Diagnostic
Our teachers have started to administer the i-Ready Diagnostic to determine areas of strengths and needs. i-Ready is an online program for reading and/or mathematics that will help your student’s teacher(s) determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains.

6th Grade News
Outdoor Ed
Dear 6th Grade Parents,
Please take a moment to complete this survey regarding your child attending Outdoor Ed Camp this year. Sixth graders are scheduled to attend Camp Cedar Crest, in Running Springs, CA, from January 13th to 17th, 2025. If students do not attend camp, they must come to school daily and will have a designated classroom to work on work provided to them by their teachers. We will hold a camp Parent Information Meeting in the fall.
The total cost is $590 per student. You may pay for camp in four installments of $147.50 on the following dates: October 4th, November 1st, December 6th and January 10th. Fundraising opportunities will also be available.
If you have any questions about camp, please reach out to Mr. Nakanishi via email.
