LGS FAMILY MONDAY MEMO
NOVEMBER 27th, 2023
WELCOME BACK!...
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with family and friends! We missed our Falcons very much, and are excited to have everyone back on campus for more learning and growing as we resume what has been a great year at Loomis Grammar School!
GRATITUDE CHAIN...
In Library, students read stories about gratitude and thankfulness. Each student in 1st through 4th grade contributed by writing down some of the things they are most grateful for on paper links. We will be displaying our “Gratitude Chain” in our library during November and December to help us remember all of the good things we are thankful for!
WE DID IT!...
Many thanks to everyone who supported our holiday food drive! Students at Loomis Grammar School brought in a whopping 2,449 food items! What a difference this will make for families in and around Loomis! Special thanks to our 7th and 8th grade Leadership Team!
A GOOD CAUSE...
My name is Mason Montgomery, and I go to HCP. I am doing a Community Project that requires me to collect used sports equipment from people in Loomis and give it back to the Loomis Sports Community. My sports drive will be held from November 27 - December 4. You can drop off donated items in the office at Loomis Grammar School. Click HERE for more details.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL SIGN UP...
7th and 8th Grade Girls - Volleyball Sign ups are open!
Season starts December 4th
Please complete an Athletic Packet and return to the office.
Any questions please contact Louise Weston lweston@loomisk8.org
LBEF STUDENT ART CONTEST...
Loomis basin education foundation Presents The 2023 Holiday home tour Art Contest. The theme is an opportunity to portray a vision of what a cozy Christmas or holiday festivity around the world would be like. Our community is so diverse, and artists can celebrate what this means to them. A winner will be selected from each individual grade level group (TK - 1st, 2nd - 4th, 5th - 8th). Monetary prizes will be awarded! Submissions Must be on an 8.5x11 piece of paper with first & last name/school/grade level/ parent name and phone number on the back. Submissions should be turned in by November 29th to the main office here at Loomis Grammar School OR the district office.
STUDENT SAFETY...
Staff do not report for supervision until 8:15 AM daily at Loomis Grammar School. Dropping students off before 8:15 AM on a large campus with no supervision is never a good idea. Extended care is available for before and after school supervision for only $5.00 an hour (scholarships are available for extended care, too!). Call the main office if you have any questions, or if you would like more details about our extended care program.
