Report cards from the third six weeks will be published in Harmony Family Access on Wednesday, January 22nd. The grades on that report card determine students' eligibility for extracurricular activities.

The grades from our third six weeks will be averaged with course grades from the fourth six weeks to calculate trimester grades at the end of February.

The grade point average of the trimester grades is what we use to determine medal awards at the end of each school year.

The Mobile Dentist will be at SMS on Tuesday, January 14th.

The Amazing Shake is Back and Better than Ever!

The Amazing Shake is coming back to SMS on January 27th, but you only have until THIS Friday, January 17th to sign up.

What is The Amazing Shake?

The Amazing Shake is a FUN event that tests students' resilience and essential skills for success: communication, discipline, professionalism, and confidence/charisma.

Students will work their way through a variety of real-world scenarios that foster positive and professional relationships with members of our community.

The best part...this competition is open to ALL of our students. No exceptions. Just potential.

What can you expect?

A supportive community rooting for you and a day full of surprises.

SMS will have a lunch session invitation next week for all students who sign up. Those who attend will learn helpful tips and tricks for the competition.

Note: This year's champion and runner up will have the opportunity to move on to travel to the Global Amazing Shake Competition at the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia!

SMS yearbooks are now on sale.

The cost is $17.

Yearbooks can be ordered via the QR code in the picture or via a paper order form that is available in the SMS office.

The deadline to order is Friday, March 21st.

The SOS Club, formerly known as Sources of Strength, is a club that seeks to leverage the influence of peer relationships to foster a healthier and more supportive school environment. By empowering students to become agents of change, the program aims to dismantle harmful norms and create a culture where help-seeking is encouraged and connections between peers and caring adults are strengthened. Ultimately, the SOS Club strives to prevent suicide, bullying, and substance abuse by cultivating a supportive and inclusive school community. Any SMS student who is interested in joining our club, please see Mrs. Smith for more information.

Winter sports are basketball, cheer, swimming, and wrestling.

Students should listen to the afternoon announcements for updates about practices and competitions.

Eventlink is the platform that we use to communicate with parents/family members regarding practices and events.

Harmony made some updates over the summer, including a new link for Harmony Family Access. When you need to visit Harmony Family Access to update information, check grades, add money to a cafeteria account, etc., please use this link. It is also located on the Scott 2 website under "Students & Parents" if you prefer to access it from there.

The Scottsburg MS student handbook contains some updates for the 2024-2025 school year. Once again, the most significant changes took place in the attendance section.

We encourage you to read the handbook with your child(ren) and to contact us with any questions you may have.
