Muรฑoz Minutes ๐
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of our School Communities,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, with only five weeks left, we are excited about all the upcoming activities and events. The Norwood Town Meeting passed the 2025 Norwood Public Schools budget on Monday, ensuring continued support for our educational programs.
May is a busy month kicking off the end of the year with various shows/performances, field trips, and other exciting events. We encourage families to stay in touch with teachers and school leadership teams to get the latest updates and details about events specific to their school buildings.
We acknowledge that the post-assessment season can be challenging. Let's reinforce our collective spirit and remember that we are all in this together. Let's continue to bolster each other as we conclude the school year on a high note. We deeply appreciate your unwavering dedication and teamwork!
Let's make these last few weeks memorable!
Go Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Dr. J.J. Muรฑoz
Acting Superintendent of Schools, Norwood Public Schools

Last night, the Norwood High School community gathered at the Four Points Sheraton to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our senior class at the annual Honors Banquet. This special event highlighted our students' dedication and hard work, with heartfelt speeches from peers commemorating their classmates' successes.
In addition to the seniors, juniors were honored, with several receiving prestigious Junior Book Awards from various universities. The evening was a testament to the bright futures that lie ahead for our students.
Congratulations to all who were recognized on this fantastic night! Your commitment to academic excellence is truly inspiring.
A Successful Literacy Night at the Willett!๐
Thank you to everyone who made the Literacy Night at the Willett a fantastic success! The event was well-attended, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and a love for reading.
Students were fishing for words, playing giant Connect Four, stacking words with cups, and listening to stories from various mystery readers, among other great activities. These games added a lot of fun and energy to the evening, making it even more memorable.
A special thank you to all the volunteers and staff who helped with the event. Your efforts ensured everything ran smoothly. Thank you for coming together to celebrate literacy and community spirit.
We look forward to many more successful events like this in the future!
Updated COVID-19 Guidelines
Norwood Public Schools Adopts the New CDC & MA Department of Public Health Guidelines for Respiratory Illnesses
1. When you have ANY respiratory virus (Flu, COVID, RSV) - stay home and away from others while you have respiratory
virus symptoms. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.
2. Return to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, BOTH are true:
Your symptoms are getting better overall, AND
You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)
3. When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking
additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be
around other people indoors.
If you have questions or need COVID home test kits please reach out to your school nurse. For additional information
