March Madness March Madness

Knight Pride:

Throughout March Madness, North View has been participating in March Madness activities! Click here for specifics. In alignment with Restorative Practices, PBIS, and Trauma Sensitive Practices, our staff has been focusing on positive framing and limit setting to support all students.

North View expects students to show PRIDE as they work toward participating in this School-Wide March Madness event. Our “If, then” statements help students understand the choices they make and the consequences that follow, empowering them to make responsible decisions. If, then statements are an effective strategy for all students, as it allows adults to create limits with kids, versus "doing to" students (Restorative Practices).

Limit setting for March Madness:

  • If students want to participate, then they must be off the Tardy List. Over 90% of students have achieved this for three consecutive weeks, ensuring they don't miss valuable learning and relationship-building in the classroom.
  • If students want to participate, then they cannot earn PASS or OSS during March Madness. Over 93% of students are demonstrating Knight PRIDE (Ready, Responsible, Safe, and Respectful) and avoiding any consequences that earn time out of the classroom.

How can students participate?
Eligible students (those meeting the above criteria) can sign up for roles such as basketball teams, hype squad, emcees, and more. Learn more about how students can get involved here.
