From the Desk of the Principal
Hello HHS Families:
As we approach the end of the trimester, I want to take a moment to encourage all of our students to stay focused, stay positive, and give their personal best. Final exams are next week, and this is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase what they’ve learned, reflect on their progress, and finish the trimester strong!
Here are a few reminders to help support success:
Stay Organized: Keep track of exam schedules (below) and assignment deadlines. Make a plan for your study time and stick to it!
Ask for Help: Our teachers are here to help you succeed. Don’t hesitate to reach out for clarification or extra support. Remember, free tutoring is always available, and details can be found in the Broncho Stampede!
Take Care of Yourself: Rest, eat well, and take breaks while studying. A healthy body and mind are the foundation for doing your best.
Let’s finish this trimester by giving your best! I know you can do great things.
Exam Schedule
Attention OSTC students:
On the first exam day (11/21), all AM and PM students WILL ATTEND OSTC. On the half day (11/22), students are excused from OSTC due to the exam schedule but must report to 3rd hour class (may be dismissed if a parent calls to release them early).

In Need of Digital Cameras
Due to the ever popular use of smartphone cameras, we have shoved our beloved digital cameras back in the recesses of our closets. However, GREAT NEWS… we now have a use for them again in the art department as we are launching a digital photography unit of study in our visual arts program. Please consider donating your gently used digital camera! You can drop them off at the front office or have your student drop one off in class. Thank you!!

DÃa de los Muertos
Spanish students celebrated DÃa de los Muertos on November 1st. Spanish 2 students wrapped up reading a story that takes place in Mexico and explains key aspects of DÃa de los Muertos through the eyes of a teenager. Students created their own "ofrendas" based on the ones described in the story. Guest teachers and students walked through the ofrendas and voted for a Best of the Best for each hour. Here are the winning ofrendas!
Spanish 3 and 4 students re-created a picnic in a cemetery to honor loved ones that have passed on. Students wrote and shared short paragraphs about each person they chose to honor during our picnic. Students added flowers, candles, papel picado and other decorations to their cemetery. We shared snacks as we listened to wonderful stories and memories.
