NEWSLETTER | TERM 1| WEEK 6| 14 MAR 2025
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we gaze upon the night sky filled with countless stars, we stand in awe of Your creation.
The vastness of the universe speaks to Your infinite power and majesty.
In this moment of wonder, we remember the radiant transfiguration of Christ on the mountaintop. His divine light shone brightly, revealing His glory and filling us with amazement.
May this vision of Christ’s transfiguration inspire us to seek Your presence in our daily lives.
Help us to see Your light in the world around us and to reflect Your love to others.
Guide us with Your wisdom and grace, so that we may walk in the path of righteousness and bring glory to Your name.
Amen.
Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians and Staff,
I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Year 6 teachers and staff – Nikita Rees, Peter Scutti, Alicia Matrenza, Renate Field, Claudia McMahon, Joe Kinder, Grace Dwyer, Anna Capolingua, Suné Pyne, Anthony D'Aloia and Father Peter for our Year 6 camp. Our professional educators put their lives on hold to ensure your Year 6 students have a wonderful time, avoid wild weather, and expand their independence in preparation for their journey to high school. As we support our students, we link it to developing student independence, which is a usual growth opportunity as children move up the in their years of schooling.
I am pleased to advise that Newman College has offered a performing arts experience for our Year 6 students to see a full production of Bugsy Malone on Thursday 3rd April. The rest of our school will be enjoying a Camp Quality Cancer Council puppet show at that time.
Building strong student voice and engagement is key to increasing wellbeing and self-determination. We are actively encouraging and seeking student feedback and embedding student voice into our positive behaviour framework, the students will be learning about the process of providing feedback and how to raise concerns next week.
We have also reviewed our school feedback process and now have an updated “Feedback, Compliments, Concerns, and Complaints Process” on the website. I encourage all families to review this and if you do have a compliment for our Professional Educators please use the form.
By the way, I know I can be quite verbose at times... Go Eagles! (Eagles by 2 points) 😊
Have a fantastic weekend.
Kind Regards
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal

🌿Finding Calm in Nature at Holy Rosary🌼
🌿✨ Breathe in… breathe out… 🧘♂️🧘♀️ Surrounded by nature, our students took a moment to pause, be present, and find their calm. 🌱💛
Practicing mindfulness helps children build focus, resilience, and a sense of peace in their busy school days. Whether it’s deep breathing, quiet reflection, or simply enjoying the fresh air, these little moments make a big difference. 🌞🌼

Meditation and relaxation on Tuesday at lunchtime drew almost as big a crowd as Crochet Club on Thursday!
It is so wonderful to see the students try something new for Mindful March. I am so proud of the way they are listening and showing patience while they learn and grow.
Next week will add St Patricks Day and Harmony Day into the mix of fun lunchtimes in the library.
A reminder that Numero is on each Friday morning in Term 1 for years 3-6 students from 7.40 - 8.10am.

Building Friendships Through Our Buddy Program
Last week, our students had the chance to meet their buddies and begin building special friendships across year levels. 🤝✨ At Holy Rosary, we put a strong emphasis on our buddy program, fostering a sense of community, leadership, and connection among our students.
It’s always heartwarming to see our older students guiding and supporting their younger buddies - creating a school environment filled with kindness and teamwork. 💕👏
