Principal's Message
Hello Ockley Green Families,
One more week and many more highlights of our students to share. It is fabulous to see the excitement of our students participating in everything from Egg Drop Experiments to reading the books they authored to their 2nd Grade pal to exploring at the Soul Restoration Center to marching in the Jr. Rose Festival Parade to dressing up for our End of Year Dance! Lots of joy in the building and community as we close out the school year.

We have finished our priority registration and are now opening up registration to any Ockley Green student that will be in 7th or 8th grade next year.
We want to invite your student to join us this summer! All students will receive Language Arts & Math instruction and multiple elective classes. This will be a great opportunity for students to reinforce learning, engage in exciting electives and prepare for their upcoming academic year. The day will start at 9:25 am and end at 2:00 pm. Students will be provided breakfast, snack and lunch each day.
See below for a QR Code and link that will get you to the registration form. Registration will be open until June 3rd.
Please Share Your Feedback
The Successful School Survey has been extended to June 7th.
We currently have 46 responses, which is quite a bit below last year's 160 responses.
We would greatly appreciate it if you would take 15 minutes to provide us your feedback on Academic Perception, Barriers to Engagement, School Safety, Communication and School Climate.
Thank you in advance for your participation as it will allow us to make thoughtful and well-informed decisions about school climate and culture. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Ms. JJB in the office at jjardeeborquist@pps.net.
FIRST Lego League Coach Needed for 24-25 School Year
From our SUN Coordinator
SUN is looking for one more coach to round out our team for the upcoming FIRST Lego League season (begins in the fall)! Coaches will help our team of about 8 students prepare for a tournament, where they will compete against other teams from all around the state. The kids will build a Lego robot and program it to solve a series of puzzles on this year's game board, as well as preparing a science-fair style presentation on a STEM topic of their choosing. As a coach, our main role is to help inspire the kids and help them brainstorm ideas for their presentation, and for how to design and code the robot. We simply guide them to use their own creativity to make sure that they are ready to participate in the tournament and have a great time doing it. Coding and engineering experience is not necessary, and some of us who have coached before will be there to help guide you through the process from the beginning!
