Multicultural Night at CGE - May 22 5:30-7:00pm

Today, your child should have brought home more information regarding World Culture Month at CGE. In May we will be highlighting our wonderful student diversity by inviting our students to create a project to show their unique heritage or culture and share with their class and have on display for our very first Multicultural night at CGE on May 22. Please see the handout sent home and the flyer below for more information.

Family Survey

Your voice is important! We are conducting a district-wide survey to gather feedback about the family experience in SoWashCo Schools. Your feedback will help us assess and make decisions about our supports and services. The survey is voluntary and anonymous, meaning you decide whether to participate and if you do, your identity will not be attached to your survey. Please complete the survey by June 4, 2025. We value your feedback and appreciate your time!

Birthday Treats

It has been a common practice to provide treats for the class in honor of a child’s birthday; however we are asking that NO EDIBLE TREATS be sent in to celebrate birthdays. We will make your child’s birthday special in the classroom without edible treats.

If you would like to send a little something to honor their day please consider an alternative birthday treat such as pencils or a book donated to the classroom. We ask that no edible treats be sent in due to varying allergy conditions and other issues related to edible treats in the classroom. Thank you for your help with following this new practice of celebrating birthdays in the classroom.

Birthday “parties” are not given in the classroom and dispersing non-edible treats is expected to take minimal time away from classroom instruction. In addition, teachers are not responsible for handing out birthday party invitations or sending email invites/RSVP reminders to the entire class. Thank you for respecting these guidelines.
