Lunar New Year Book Buddies!
Year of the Wood Snake 🐍
新年快乐
What does that mean? It's a common Mandarin Chinese New Year greeting that means Happy New Year! Each year, many Asian countries like China, Korea and Thailand celebrate the Lunar New Year. This year, the PALCS Family Ambassadors decided to join in the fun by hosting two different Lunar New Year celebrations... one in Region 2 and one in Region 1. Please join us for an afternoon of festivities and fun!
Here are some other traditional greetings, including how to pronounce them!

Making fortune cookies is a perfect Lunar New Year activity.
Why? Because it involves:
- Literacy (writing fortunes),
- Math (measuring ingredients),
- Science (the properties of cooking),
- Social studies (what these cookies represent in Chinese culture).
- Plus, yum!
