Parking Lot Gates: Open at 5:30pm
Graduate Arrival: 6:00pm - Field House for check in

Cap and Gown Pick Up Day
Event: Cap and Gown Pick Up
Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2025
Location: Morton East Field House
Time: 12:30pm - 3:00pm
Arrival: Enter through 24th street garage door
*Bring your student ID
Students that are considered "Summa Cum Laude" are students that have obtained a 3.9 GPA or higher. Students will be given a white gown for graduation.
Click on the attachment below labeled "Cap and Gown Pick Up 2025" for an overview of the day.
Note: Students are NOT permitted to wear any stole like the one on the right, or any similar, during the graduation ceremony. Families must keep these stoles with them. Students will be able to take photos ON THE FIELD after the ceremony.
*Morton will provide specific stoles for NHS, SHH or future Military students.
Senior Breakfast Cruise
Event: Senior Breakfast Cruise
Date: Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Location: Navy Pier Cruise
Time: 11am - 1:00pm
Ticket Sales: April of 2025 in the Bookstore/Cashier
This is a special lunch honoring the Class of 2025 that will take place aboard the Spirit of Chicago Vessel on Lake Michigan at Navy Pier!
- Bus transportation will be provided! Students should arrive at 8:30am at the Morton East Student Cafeteria for check-in. We will depart from Morton East at 9:30am SHARP and the cruise will be from 11am to 1pm.
- Permission slips are required. These will be available for pick up in April as well; in 312 office.
- Casual jeans, t-shirts, athletic shoes and flip-flops are NOT allowed.
Student Eligibility
- You will NOT be eligible to attend this event if you are not on track to graduate (missing credits), failing grades, or if you have bad attendance (many absences).
- Students will be able to make an appeal appointment to speak with an Assistant Principal.

Prom Dance 2025
Event: Prom Dance 2025
Date: Thursday, May 22, 2025
Location: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
Time: 6:30pm - 11:00pm
Ticket Sales: April of 2025 in the Bookstore/Cashier
*Shuttles from East to Prom and back will be available for students
Student Eligibility
- You will NOT be eligible to attend this event if you are not on track to graduate (missing credits), failing grades, or if you have bad attendance (many absences).
- Students will be able to make an appeal appointment to speak with an Assistant Principal.
Guests are allowed
- Morton West students (9th - 12th grade) allowed
- Morton Freshman Center students (9th grade)
- Morton East students (10th-12th grade)
- Students from different schools will need permission from their school and parents - their school ID is required.
- People 20 years or younger will need a valid state ID

Summa Cum Laude Dinner 2025
Event: Summa Cum Laude Dinner & Outing
Date: Monday, April 28th
Location: Maggiano's Little Italy & Millennium Park
Time: 5:00pm - 10:30pm
Cost: FREE
We are excited to celebrate our Morton East Seniors that qualify as Summa Cum Laude!
ANY Morton East Senior is eligible to attend if they meet the following requirements:
- Obtain a 3.9 GPA or higher
- We will have a mandatory meeting for all students who meet this requirement in March in the auditorium.
