This is our third week of distance learning. Every child will get a packet this week. On the fourth week, only students that still have no iPad or means of connection will be getting a packet. This is why we need to get an iPad to everyone that can use one. There is an agreement that will need to be completed. A cash fee of $25.00 purchases insurance in case anything happens to the iPad and we all know accidents happen. If at all possible, it is in your best interest to pay the $25.00..without it if something happens to the iPad, you would be responsible for all damages. $25.00 to protect the iPad is a small price to pay just in case! Your child will keep the iPad until school resumes.
The two main programs we are using is SeeSaw and Google Meet. A few other helpful apps will be included on the iPads as well. The teachers love being able to see and talk to their students. Everyone of them misses your child and hates not getting to finish the year with them in person. Using technology at least allows us to interact with them. Possibly some time this week, we will be able to pass out iPads to our students that need them. Your teachers have given technology names of those that have requested iPads. If you are interested in your Kindergartener having an iPad to use please contact your teacher and let them know. A list of hotspots will be given if WiFi is an issue

Cubby Clean Out:
- Under the Governor's order, we can only complete essential tasks through April 30th. We will begin cleaning out cubbies the first week of May and have a pickup schedule/time for homerooms once we have personal items bagged up.
Yearbooks:
- Yearbooks will be delivered to our schools on May 1st. Students who purchased a yearbook will pick it up when they pickup their cubby items.
Fundraiser Prizes
- We have been in contact with our fundraiser consultant and as soon as we have the prizes, we will notify the winners! Thank you so much for helping our fundraiser be a success!!
We hope that our free meal program has been helping you and your family. Our town appreciates the hard work that our Child Nutrition workers, bus drivers, and coaches have put into to making sure that our children have healthy meals during this quarantine. Kids...remember to tell them thank you when you get your sacks! They all love you and when you show them appreciation...it makes their hearts happy! A feeding schedule is attached below.
Finally, please know that we all miss and love your child very much! Do not let distance learning stress you out. This is not the intention at all. We want your child to continue learning...they were all making such great progress! Just do what you can and ask for help if you need any assistance at all. All of us want to help you and your child be successful in any way we can. Please give your child a big hug from all of us...give yourself one, too! Thank you for being such wonderful families and for loving your children! Stay safe....hopefully all of our efforts will stop the spread and get us back together soon.
Much love,
Kathy Hunt, teachers, and staff of WGECC
