What's Happening in School?
It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached October—time truly flies when you’re immersed in both fun and learning! Each week, Mr. Krause and I have the privilege of visiting classrooms throughout the building. It’s heartwarming to be welcomed by the students, but what’s even more rewarding is witnessing the incredible learning taking place.
In just the past month, we’ve observed our Kindergarten students mastering the connection between objects and numerals, as well as discovering how labeled pictures enhance their understanding of texts. In second grade, students have been deepening their understanding of place value and participating in guided reading rotations to strength their comprehension. Our third grade students are building perseverance through challenging math problems and gaining fluency in multiplication. Meanwhile, in sixth grade, I’m continuously impressed by their grasp of proportions and ratios, especially as they relate to real-life applications.
When you reflect on all of this, it’s truly remarkable how much progress our students have made in such a short time. Just imagine what they’ll achieve by winter break—and even more so by the end of the school year. Spring Trail is fortunate to have some of the most dedicated and talented teachers, and Mr. Krause and I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside them. Rest assured, your children are in great hands and are receiving an exceptional education!
Walk and Roll to School
Walk or Roll to School on Wednesday, October 9th to help promote healthy life styles for our children. Spring Trail is once again participating in the Kane County Walk or Roll event! Attendance Awareness Month
September has come to an end, and with it, our attendance competition has officially wrapped up. Congratulations to our sixth-grade students for achieving the highest attendance percentage in the entire school! They earned 5 GOLDEN TICKETS and celebrated with a party of their choice as a well-deserved reward.
But don’t rest just yet, families and students—the competition is far from over! Mr. Krause and I are already planning the next challenge to keep our attendance rates above 95%. Stay tuned for all the exciting details in our next newsletter!
Teacher Shout Outs
This week we have the sweetest shout out to Miss Caputo! Dalia wanted you to know how much of an impression you have made on her! Here is what Dalia had to say:
"Miss Caputo was so nice to me in 3rd grade. Me and my sister and friends always say hi to her before we go to class."
Thanks for making a lasting impression on our students, Miss Caputo.
This week, I would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Hurcombe. Recently, I've had the opportunity to substitute in her classroom. I watched the interactions Mrs. Hurcombe had with the students and how much she cared about them as individuals and helping them to learn! You can tell that this was her calling and she is meant to be in this position helping our students. So, thank you, Mrs. Hurcombe for dancing with our students, h h h helping them spell words, and showing them that you truly care for them!
