Parade and Pep Rally
Our Homecoming parade will begin at 6:00 at WHS and will follow the traditional parade route. Be on the lookout for our 2024 WHS Homecoming Court, Grand Marshal, the Pride of Wilmington WHS Marching Band, lots of floats, and more!

68th Annual Chili Supper
This traditional event will take place in the WHS Auditeria Friday, October 4th from 4:00-6:30PM. The Wilmington Band program is proud to host one of the longest-running traditions in Wilmington. We welcome everyone to join us for our traditional Band Chili Supper as WHS celebrates Homecoming 2024.
When: Friday, October 4, 2024 - 4:00pm - 6:30pm
Where: Wilmington High School Auditera.
Tickets are $7.00 for each meal. A meal will come with a bowl of chili, a side of Applesauce or Coleslaw, dessert, and a drink. All proceeds benefit the award-winning Wilmington Band program.
How do I get tickets? Tickets can be purchased from any current WHS Band member, at the door, or online at wilmingtonbands.ludus.com

Tickets are $8 and are sold at the gate or online
Dance
October 5th at Alumni Field. *weather permitting, with alternate location WMS Gymnasium
Gates open at 7:30
Dance is from 8:00-10:00.
Tickets will be on sale during lunch for $20 from 9/26-10/4
Students will not be allowed to leave the dance until 10:00
You must have your ticket to get into the gates. Laurel Oaks students will be able to purchase tickets during lunch with a student council representative.
Forms are in the office and at lunch
Guest forms and money are due at the same time
No Backpacks allowed
Tickets are available to current WHS students in Grades 9-12. Students are permitted to bring one guest. No middle school students or students who are over 20.
Clinton County Career Fair
The Clinton County Workforce Collaborative and Junior Achievement will host a Career Exploration Fair at Laurel Oaks Career Campus, located at 300 Oak Drive, Wilmington. The goal of the Fair is to provide hands-on and interactive experiences for students while creating awareness of workforce opportunities right here in Clinton County. All 10th and 12th Graders will be attending this event throughout the day on October 9th.
WHS College Fair
On October 16th, we will host our annual college fair. We will have over 60+ colleges represented in the the high school gym. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will get to attend during the school day. Teachers will be helping students research and plan for this day.
School Bus Safety Week
During the third full week of October each year, National School Bus Safety Week is a public education campaign designed to promote school bus safety. It is an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties such as law enforcement agencies, to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.
PSAT Registration
Wilmington High School will be administering the PSAT assessment on October 30th. The test will take place during the school day at the school. The PSAT is available to both Juniors and Sophomores however, we are limited to 30 assessments, so Junior will receive preference.

Closed Lunch Policy
WHS has a closed lunch policy. Below are a few reminders from the student handbook. This information was reviewed with students in class meetings.
Wilmington High School does not have an open lunch policy. Students must remain in the building for lunch.
Outside food should not be delivered or dropped off for any student at the school.
Parents/Guardians are not to call/sign-out students for lunch.
All WCS studenta are automatically eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch meal at no charge. Please note that the program covers a full breakfast and lunch meal. Extra food or á la carte items will incur a charge.
1st Quarter Report Cards
Report cards are being mailed home on Friday, October 18th. Be looking for these in your mailbox. You will find student grades as well as credit and attendance information. Let the front office know if you do not receive your child's report card. If you have any questions or concerns about 1st quarter grades, please contact your child's teacher.
Ohio Election Information
Election Day is just around the corner.
Deadline to Register to Vote: October 7 (Boards open until 9:00 p.m.)
Early In-Person Voting: October 8 and includes the two Saturdays and the two Sundays before Election Day. Visit boe.ohio.gov/clinton/election-info/early-voting-hours/ for the dates/times.
Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins October 8
Election Day: November 5 (Polls Open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.) If not returned by mail, absentee ballots must be received by your board of elections by 7:30 p.m.
Valid Photo ID is now a mandated requirement for voting in Ohio. Visit ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/id-requirements for identification requirements.
Pedestrian Crossing Construction
The Thorne Avenue/Wilmington High School location is scheduled to begin October 21 and last approximately 2 weeks.

Please consider taking time to provide some feedback to our district and buildings regarding your experience with communication regarding attendance and home to school communication.
Our district team and buildings will use the information you provide in an effort to make changes to improve our overall communication with families.
Medical Notes
For all medical absences, a doctor’s excuse must be provided to the school within forty-eight (48) hours, i.e. two business days, of the student’s return to school or the absence will be unexcused.
Food Pantry
Wilmington High School has a Food Pantry done in partnership with the Free Store Food Bank. Any family with a student attending in the Wilmington City School District is eligible for this program. An interested family simply needs to complete the attached form and send it with their student and someone from the WHS Food Pantry will contact them for additional information!
We hope to curb food insecurity in our great community and continue to grow our students into community leaders!
