Lifetouch will be here on September 4th. Students need to be in uniform. These pictures will go in the yearbook!
YEARBOOKS FOR 2023-24
The yearbooks from 2023-24 have arrived and were distributed last week. We will have a limited amount to sell. If you believe you purchased a yearbook and did not receive it, please email the school office. If you want to purchase a yearbook, the cost is $30. Please send a check in an envelope marked "YEARBOOK" to the school office.

To report a student absent/tardy or if you have a transportation change, please send an email to school@stcindependence.org.

LABEL PERSONAL ITEMS
Please take the time to label your students uniforms, sweatshirts, coats, lunch boxes, etc. This will assist us in getting items back to their owners and will help keep the lost and found bin to a minimum.
CAFETERIA VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
We need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. Kitchen Help will assist the cafeteria with serving food. Cafe Monitor will assist students with opening items and cleaning tables.
You must be VIRTUS compliant. Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!
DONATION - 2 LITER BOTTLES
We are in need of 2 liters for the festival ring toss game. Please drop off donations to the receptionist desk. Your help is greatly appreciated.
LABOR DAY FESTIVAL
FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
ATTENTION: We need set up help Friday, August 30th from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm to get the festival ready for the evening concert.
The following booths need volunteers: Split the Pot, Beat the Dealer, Fast Poker, Ducky Downs, Parking, & Grounds Sanitation.
Keep in mind if you typically work with a festival booth chair that self-staffs the booth, you'll need to coordinate directly with them. Chicken Dinner is listed on the genie this year.
Each parishioner is asked to contribute 8 hours to the festival as it is the key fundraiser of the year.
As a THANK YOU for working 8 hours (2 shifts), each Adult Volunteer will receive:
1. Festival T-Shirt
2. Half-Price Beer and Soda tickets WHILE WORKING
3. (1) Specialty DRINK and for St. C parents and a Parents Pack....
- Parents Pack includes, (20) kids' area tickets (NOT VALID ON RIDES), (2) out of uniform passes. Tickets must be purchased or picked up at the WELCOME BOOTH in the upper lot.

St. Cecilia's Labor Day Grand Raffle Ticket Sales have begun! The Grand Prize for this year will be either a brand new 2024 Arctic White Corvette Stingray 1LT; MSRP $69,995; removable roof panel, 8-way power GT bucket seats, LED headlamps, remote vehicle start, bose premium 10 speaker audio system, HD rear vision camera, forward collision alert & theft deterrent system, OR a $50,000 cash option!
Tickets are $25.00 each. A maximum of 8,000 tickets will be sold and the drawing will be held on Monday, September 2nd.
To buy tickets, you can either call our office at 859-363-4311, go to our Festival website, or mail us back the Grand Raffle postcards with a check. Postcards have been sent out.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

BASKETBALL REGISTRATION
Registration is now open to all students in grades 1-8 for St. Cecilia basketball! The season length will vary based on grade level and team placement. Practices begin in October and games typically start in November. Teams will have one scheduled practice a week to go along with one game a week. Most leagues will schedule between 8-10 games and play a season ending tournament.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to coach or assist as well. Please indicate your willingness to do so when registering your child. As a reminder all parent volunteers must be VIRTUS compliant. This is the perfect way to satisfy your parental service hours requirement!

Also as an invitation to our new families as well as a reminder to our existing families there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with our St. Cecilia Sports Committee! We encourage you to come to a meeting and help if you can!
Teams are based on your child's current grade level for the 2024-20245 school year. If for some reason during the registration process they aren't able to register for the correct grade level, please let us know and we'll get it corrected.

ARCHERY REGISTRATION
Registration is now open to all students in grades 4-8 for St. Cecilia archery! Practices are Wednesday's from 6:00-7:00 starting in October and go through March. Tournaments are 1hr long and are on either Friday night or Saturday during the day.

**Get Involved – Join the Sports Committee:** We are looking for amazing people!!
Our sports programs thrive thanks to the dedication of our wonderful volunteers. We invite you to get involved by joining the Saint Cecilia Sports Committee. Whether you have a background in sports or just a passion for supporting our students, your involvement can make a significant impact. We have various roles available that cater to different interests and time commitments.
OPEN POSITIONS
Secretary: Taking notes and creating the agenda for our meetings.
Social Media Manager: Gather photos, create flyers, promote our hard working student athletes, and market our events.
Members at Large: Want to help but not ready to take on a full roll. Members at large take on the odds and ends and can help where needed. Only requirement is attending the 1/month meeting and helping with what they can.
U4/U6 Assistant Soccer Coordinator: Simply show up on Sunday afternoons during soccer seasons and direct families to which field they are playing on and blow a horn to start the games and end the games. This is perfect for someone who loves to watch the little ones have fun running around.
As a committee member, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Help shape the future of our sports programs
- Organize and support our events and activities
- Build lasting relationships with other Saint Cecilia families
- Make a positive difference in the lives of our students
