Art in the Schools!
The artist-in-residence program offers fourth and fifth graders across the district a chance to work with an artist for a few days each year. This week, Buel fourth graders learned about how to create with clay. Thank you to the McMinnville Education Foundation for making these experiences possible!

More on Meals for Memorial and MHS
Beginning today, Friday, Dec. 1, first meals are free for all students in all district schools. If your student likes to eat an additional meal or buy milk or juice a la carte, they must have funds in their student meal account.
Find prices for additional meals and milk/juice here and check your student’s meal account balance here.
If you have a meal account balance that you would like refunded or donated to a family in need, please email Jamie Wright.
Investment in Early Literacy
Last year the Oregon legislature passed House Bill 3198, which is a large investment to strengthen early literacy in our state. The goal is to have more students reading at grade level by third grade.
This fall, a committee of MSD educators has worked to research and generate ideas that would work best in our district. They have come up with eleven potential investments and are looking for feedback from you. Please consider providing your input on this survey (English/ Spanish).

Willamette Stocks the Food Pantry
Thank you to Willamette families, whose contributions to the November food drive yielded a bounty of nonperishables to restock the food pantry at the Family Resource Center!
If your family (or you know of one that) needs food, clothing or other assistance, please contact the MSD Family Resource Center at 503.565.4225.
Being On Time Matters!
Did you know that being tardy can add up to significant lost school time? Chronically tardy students not only fall behind by missing the start of class announcements, but they also disrupt the learning of others. Here are some tips on how to get kids out the door earlier in the morning.
