Cahaba Teacher Honored as Recipient of the Chiquita Marbury Award
Congratulations to Cahaba Elementary STEM teacher, Mrs. April Smith, on receiving the Chiquita Marbury Award! This award is a highly prestigious honor given annually by the Alabama State Department of Education. It recognizes educators, who are exemplary models of technology teachers and leaders.
Recipients of the Chiquita Marbury Award are celebrated for their commitment to integrating technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The Chiquita Marbury Award is a testament to Mrs. Smith’s dedication to empowering students and teachers through innovative methods and real-world applications of technology!
HTHS Highsteppers attend UDA Camp at Auburn University
The HTHS Highsteppers had an unforgettable experience at UDA Camp, held this year at Auburn University. Surrounded by top teams from across the region, the Highsteppers stood out with their hard work, positive attitude, and undeniable talent.
Throughout the camp, the team built strong bonds, sharpened their technique, and represented HTHS with pride. Their dedication and preparation paid off with an impressive list of accomplishments:

- Superior Trophy
- 8 All-American Awards
- 3 Pin It Forward Awards
- 60 Blue Ribbons
Beyond the awards, the camp was a meaningful experience full of growth, teamwork, and inspiration. The Highsteppers left UDA Camp feeling proud, motivated, and ready to take on the season.
The girls and coaches are proud of all they’ve accomplished and are looking forward to everything this season will bring. The momentum is strong, and the best is yet to come for the HTHS Highsteppers!

The Trussville City Board of Education will hold its July monthly meetings on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 8:00am and on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 5:00pm. The livestream link will be published on the TCS website (www.trussvillecityschools.com) 15 minutes prior to the start of each meeting.
