Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The warm, and therefore wet, continued throughout this week. Spare socks and Inline skating being the big themes.
On Tuesday and Wednesday student all had the opportunity to do two rounds of Alien Inline Skating. This event was organized by Miss Weninger and made possible by the popcorn fundraiser done earlier this year.
Friday Staff had professional development. Some went to Hinton for training in Non Violent Crisis Intervention. Other participated in training around Artificial Intelligence, Behaviour Support, and reporting.
On Wednesday, students in grades 4 through 6 were sent home with the Alberta Assurance Survey Random Access Code to complete this year's survey. The same information was emailed out that evening. Please see below for more details.
On Thursday, students received a information package from the School Council regarding our Purdy's Chocolate Fundraiser. Please see below.
Next week on Tuesday we are having hot lunch, donated by the Adam's family. Also on Tuesday our School Council meeting is at 3:45pm.
Please see this link to a survey regarding the GYPSD school calendar.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal

On Monday March 10th, Wildwood School will be switching from manual calling for students that are marked absent to an automated safe arrival system. At 9:30 each day the system will call the parent or guardian of all students marked absent. Students that are previously identified as illness, family priority, or no bus will not be called. If you receive this call and your child should be at school please call the school office at 780-325-3858. If you would like to identify your student as missing for the day or update the absence after receiving the call please email your student's homeroom teacher (email's below) or Mrs. Vankosky . Please be patient with us during this transition.

Spotlight on School Success: Assurance Survey (Closes March 21st)
- The annual Alberta Assurance Survey is now out. This gives a chance for parents and students in grade 4-6 in our school to provide feedback on how they feel things are going. It is often described as the School's Report Card. We use the data from this survey to help us with planning and addressing issues. It is important that we get as many responses as possible in order to get the most complete possible picture of how our school is doing.
- If you have any issues with access please let the school know.
- One last thing, the survey considers "don't know" answers to be the same as a negative response. If you are not sure about a question please feel free to call the school or send me an email at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.

Working Across Schools: A Message from Evansburg PAC.
Parents and Guardians of Wildwood School, I am reaching out to see who might be interested in helping with our annual Grouch’s Ball. I am sure the news has spread that we will need to fundraise for a playground at the new school. Evansview PAC has decided that a portion of our profit we will be making a donation for the new playground. That being said, if you have free time April 25th to help assemble donated items and possibly help set up please reach out. Or possibly April 27th for take down. Please reach out by email! Also, please feel more than welcome to attend!! We would love to see more of the Wildwood community there to make it an ever bigger success! Thank you for your support!
