Trimester 1 Honor Roll Recognition
Students who earned Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for Trimester 1 were recognized on Thursday afternoon. They received a certificate along with a snack. Principal Crowley congratulated the students and encouraged them to keep up the hard work for Trimester 2. Grades 7 and 8 students were treated to a special concert from the SHS Jazz Band and Acapella Group. Grade 6 students earned free time outside.
438 students earned Honors and High Honors for their work in Trimester 1. There are 839 total students enrolled at OMS.
The OMS PBIS team planned this special honor roll recognition for students who earned honor roll and high honor roll in Trimester 1. PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is a school-wide systems approach to student behavior and establishing a positive student culture. The OMS PBIS team includes teachers, school and district administrators, and community members. OMS head teachers along with OMS administration and additional staff helped make the recognition event special for students. We plan to recognize students who earn honor roll and high honor roll each trimester.
Student Council Presents Spirit Week

OMS Military Homecoming
On Monday, December 18th, we had a special surprise for Darren Mahagan (Grade 8 student). Darren's mother, Ms. Breanna Hewson, surprised Darren at lunch. Ms. Hewson recently joined the Army and has been in training in Missouri for the past five months. Watch their reunion in the video below!
NJHS Visits the Wilkins
On Tuesday, December 19th, NJHS members visited third grade classes at the Wilkins. Students partnered up to learn about Ramadan as part of the Wilkins “Holidays Around the World” unit. They then colored and created a lantern which represent light leading the way. After this activity, they played math games with dice to practice multiplication facts. NJHS members will return in February and April to help their buddies practice for their first MCAS in the spring!
Throwback to November Students of the Month
