From the Superintendent
Schools Will Be Open Tomorrow
January 20, 2025
Dear Winnetka Families and Staff,
With subzero temperatures predicted for tomorrow morning, the National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory for the Chicago area through 12 noon tomorrow. Our schools will be OPEN and ready to provide a safe, warm learning environment for our students.
All students will be allowed to immediately enter the schools as they arrive in the morning, regardless of the timing of the first bell. There will be no outdoor recess. Please allow more time to travel to school and demonstrate best safety practices as more cars may be in the drop-off line. No students will be marked tardy.
We appreciate your support as we partner to ensure the safe arrival of our staff and students tomorrow morning, and look forward to a “warmer” week ahead.
Most Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Tess
Superintendent of Schools
