4TH GRADE ST. ALBANS BAY WATERSHED INSTRUCTION
"Lake Lessons is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and cultural heritage education workshop for 4th grade learners. This workshop takes place at the St. Albans Bay and Georgia Beach Parks, with each session lasting a half day. This place-based, hands-on educational program is provided by staff and volunteers from SAM and their community partners to help supplement existing environmental curriculum and support the Museum’s mission to preserve and share our local history and educate the public. Support from grants and sponsors allows us to provide this program free of charge (including transportation) to schools."

VOYAGERS IN THE WETLANDS
Once again the team went outside for a work party hauling wood chips and spreading them on the pathways through the wetlands. 9-28-2023. Link to 24 Pictures.
WALKING WEDNESDAYS
There are 4 Walking Wednesdays scheduled this month. Get ready to walk with one of six different groups coming to St. Albans City School on Wednesdays. Link to map, meeting points and meet-up times
BIKING FRIDAYS IN OCTOBER (FROM HOUGHTON PARK TO SCHOOL)

Greetings from the Climate Committee! We are announcing Biking Fridays from Houghton Park during the month of October! If you don’t have a bike, walking is an option although bikers and walkers will not be kept together while getting to school.
Meet up at Houghton Park earliest at 6:50 and leaving at 7:00.
We are doing this because if you walk, bike, or carpool to school, it lessens air pollution and hopefully our actions will slow global warming.

Update: 5/6 Soccer players please show up at SACS wearing your uniforms at 4:30pm Tuesday, October 3rd for a team picture. Do not show up before 4:15. Your game starts at 5:00.
These pictures are for record keeping purposes and there is no fee for the athletes and their families. A digital version will be shared with the coaches to pass on to athletes.
