7th Grade Weekly Newsletter
Sep 30 - Oct 4
Coming up next week in 7th Grade...
Math
All students are finishing up NWEA testing this week with the goal of making great gains this year! MATH - Monday students will review Fraction/Decimal/Percent conversions and then we'll start working out of the textbook. Pre-Algebra - Students will start reviewing Probability in Chapter 1. BOTH CLASSES - As the marking period progresses, if you see a grade that doesn't represent your student and you don't see practice at home, that is most likely the cause. Both classes get a bit of homework 3-4 times a week.
History
We will be finishing up our module on thinking like historians in our first unit on social Science Thinking. We will be working on the historical piece of our ongoing project to create an international tour itinerary.
Science
In Science we are learning about the Periodic Table of Elements and some of the most fundamental elements we have on Earth.
ELA
Next week, we will continue our second lesson of Facing Adversity unit. Students will be reading Historical Nonfiction and analyzing text.
Electives
- Spanish: 7th grade is going to start learning how to tell time in Spanish.
- Tabletop Game Design: Students have wrapped up work on their game prototypes and will be play testing this week. Students will provide each other with feedback and ideas for improvement.
