School Safety
Everyday the safety and wellbeing of our community is priority, When students and staff feel safe, they are ready to learn and teach. Safety includes physical and emotional well being. At Edgerton, we are grounded in our work through relationships. Our day to day connections are what creates and maintains a sense of belonging and safety.
There are also the technical pieces: safety drills, locked doors and limiting visitors during the school day. Today we practiced a lockdown drill. We have completed multiple safety drills this Fall already. Our next drill will be a Tornado/Severe Weather drill in April.
I want to clarify what it means that we have shifted to a Closed Campus this school year. During the school day (9:25-4:00) family members and visitors are not allowed in the hallways unless there is a scheduled meeting at school. I know this does not feel warm and welcoming at all. And I wish this wasn't the case. But the reality is that we need to make changes to our practices in schools for the safety of the community. Family members that come to school during the day can wait in the main office while a staff member locates your child. Thank you for your understanding and partnership.
Join me!
I am the proud principal at Edgerton. And! My other favorite role is mom of an 8th grader at RAMS and a 10th grader at RAHS. I will be at next week's Community Meeting and hope to see some of you there.
Families, community members, and staff are invited to attend Roseville Area Schools' community meeting on November 20. We'll outline our district’s safety initiatives and explore ways we can all partner to keep our students and staff safe.
We're honored to host Dr. James Densley, a nationally recognized violence prevention expert, award-winning author, and co-founder of The Violence Prevention Project. Dr. Densley will share his valuable insights into preventing school violence, offering a unique learning opportunity for all.

Your presence and partnership matter—let's work together to make our schools safe for everyone!
Goals for Edgerton 2023-2024

We revisit our goals with community members and staff throughout the school year. As we approach the end of Trimester 1, we will be collecting data and info on how our plan is going.
Paper and electronic copies of Title I plans are available to families via email, US mail, or can be picked up from the school office. If interested, please contact marisa.knoss@isd623.org.
