Cougar Cub Parent News - Feb 7
Learning is sweet at PGE!
A Message from Ms. Bruhn, Principal
Next week we will have early release on Thursday, Feb 13th and students have no school on Feb 14th and 17th.
Valentines Day Parties will be on February 13th at the times on the flyer below. We also have an early release on Feb 13th.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in the afternoon of Feb 13th. Teachers will be sending out information on how to sign up for a conference.
February is Black History Month, and at PGE, we are excited to celebrate and honor the achievements, history, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. Our students will engage in a variety of activities, including stories, and discussions that highlight the rich cultural heritage and accomplishments of Black leaders, artists, scientists, and more.
We encourage you to continue the conversation at home by exploring books, music, and historical figures with your child.
We are having a multicultural parade on February 20th and we need your help. Please complete the short survey to help us prepare for the day. We are excited about our multicultural parade and 2nd grade music program as we honor and embrace the rich cultural backgrounds that make up our school community. Students will have the opportunity to celebrate their heritage by dressing in traditional attire, showcasing cultural symbols, and participating in activities that highlight the beauty of diversity. Our goal is to create an inclusive and joyful experience where students can learn about different cultures, traditions, and histories from around the world.
Snapshot of Learning
We will highlight different classes or events each week so you can see the amazing learning happening in our classrooms!
Kindergarteners in Ms. Perez's class read decodables with consonant blends.
5th graders are learning how to multiply fractions with Ms. Cook.
1st graders learn about poetry structure and author's purpose with Mrs. Maston.
Cub Fit Challenge
Coach Lev has distributed the Cub Fit Challenge calendar to students in K-5. This year, the incentive for the students is whichever class in each grade level has the most minutes of activity, they will get to watch their teacher race against the other grade level teachers in a funny inflatable suit.
The challenge runs from Jan. 20th-Feb 20th. Students will have one week to turn it into me. No late calendars will be accepted. Calendars with no names will not count.
An extra copy of the calendar is attached below.
