Shout out to all of our AMAZING Grizzly Families who came out to support our Clean Up Day at our K-8 Campus on Saturday! We had families pressure washing, spreading mulch out for our playground, cleaning our cafeteria, picking up trash, and scrubbing and sanitizing common areas that our students utilize daily. It was so refreshing to see the support from our families and the willingness to assist in beautifying our campus. THANK YOU to these Grizzly Families and to Mr. Whittington (maintenance department) and Mrs. Spencer (K-8 Principal) for organizing the event!
Please send our volunteer coordinator an email to log your hours from Saturday morning at volunteercgs@cgsnc.org.

College Application Week is October 21st - 27th
Students are encouraged to submit their simplified applications during College Application Week, October 21-27, 2024, when most NC colleges and universities waive application fees. With the exception of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, all institutions participating in NC College Connect are waiving their application fees as a part of College Application Week.
CFNC is working diligently to provide additional resources and programs in the coming months for students impacted by Hurricane Helene. Some students may still apply to college this month as planned, and others may need to alter plans. Resources will be available at CFNC.org throughout the Countdown to College kick-off month of October, but this information will also be available all year long to help students and families navigate the college-going process when the time is right.
As a reminder, NC College Connect is led by the UNC System, in partnership with the NC Department of Public Instruction, the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, GEAR UP North Carolina, the NC Community College System and the Office of the Governor. Full eligibilty requirements and a list of participating institutions are available at NCCollegeConnect.org.
Appreciatively,
Dr. Morris

Introducing NCICU Direct Admission
Introducing NCICU Direct Admission for 26 Colleges and Universities
Twenty-six North Carolina private colleges and universities are offering eligible students more immediate acceptance to their campuses for the 2025-2026 academic year. North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) recently announced the Direct Admission Program to provide a seamless and swift application process. North Carolina seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher can answer a few straightforward questions and then receive information directly from the colleges and universities of their choice, including details about conditional acceptance, specific campus requirements, and available financial aid options.

"Family first has always been my philosophy. Setting goals and the bar high always ends with learning things about yourself. Teaching takes a special individual who sees the things in others that they do not see in themselves. This is why I decided to teach. I have found that educating others fills something within myself and it brings joy to me when I see my high schoolers set off on their path of life to do great things!"
Have a FANTASTIC week Grizzlies!!
As always, thanks for all that you do,
Mrs. Vereyken
