Greetings Patriot Families,

We have officially reached the mid-point of the Fall semester! Parents, you are encouraged to review your child's 9-week progress report and discuss their academic status. Please work with your child and her/his teachers to create a plan for success for the remainder of the semester.

Congratulations to our 2024 Teacher of Year, Mr. Bo Heard! We are so fortunate to have his academic and athletic expertise on our team. Coach Heard truly embodies what it means to bring a Competitive Advantage to Sandy Creek High School! Additionally, we want to congratulate our Homecoming King Mark Hill and Homecoming Queen, Ms. Nyla Battle.

Our 2024 Homecoming Week was filled with much success! Congratulations to Ms. Gallman and our Orchestra who performed in the KSU Orchestra Invitational last Friday. Congratulations to Coach Smiley and our Football team for defeating Whitewater 28-21 in what was the closest game of the season! Congratulations to Coach Lewis and our Volleyball team as we celebrate their win in the Sweet 16 State Championship Playoffs. Please come out to support our Lady Patriots at home this week on Wednesday as we make a run for the Elite 8! Congratulations to Coach Neal and our girls Flag Football team as they defeated Norcross and Banneker High School last Thursday!

We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

The math lab will now be open during study hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please tell students to request a pass to 226 if they need tutoring. I'm also attaching something you can post if you'd like.

I wanted to inform you that the DPH has extended the Immunization Audit deadline to October 25, 2024, due to issues with the Georgia IMM registry.

Please send me the updated 3231 forms with the MCV4 information for your students as soon as possible, as I currently don’t have access to the GA registry to verify them. A copy of the form from your doctor is necessary for my records.

If any students are missing documentation, I will reach out to you via email.

Please provide the nurse with copies for your students Immunization records on the GA Form 3231. I also need a copy of your students' 3300 Form ( Hearing, Vision, Dental and Nutrition). If you have not done so please make an appointment with your private doctor to request these documents be completed or the Health department.

We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.

Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. About Notable Narratives:

NN is a 501 (c)(3) college essay service organization that provides completely free college essay editing services to first generation and/or low income (FGLI) high school seniors applying to college. We do this by pairing college applicants with FGLI college students, as having an advisor that comes from a similar background will allow students to feel more comfortable receiving help

Since our founding in August 2020:

• Our 90 FGLI college advisors have assisted over 1,750 students from 102 unique countries and all 50 states.

• 1 in 4 students who filled out our annual survey were accepted into an Ivy League or Stanford University.

• 94% of our students were BIPOC, and 50% identified as both first-generation and low-income.

We encourage you to read more about our impact through our Impact Report, website, and Instagram. We are excited to help even more students this year!

Next Steps:

Attached is a Registration Form for you to share with your students. NN’s services are available to those who self-identify as low income and/or first generation; students do not need to identify as both to apply. I will also be sending this resource to the SCHS counselors.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.

• Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
• Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
• After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
