βThe week of October 3 through October 7 was Bring your family to P.E. Week! The week is used to share and promote information and knowledge with students and families about the importance of physical education and living a healthy lifestyle. Each building found unique ways to promote physical activities for students and their families. β
This past Friday, a group of juniors and seniors attend the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce Manufacturing Day! Students toured the facilities, attended discussion panels, and learned about the different career opportunities at Owens Corning and SABIC. Big thank you to these companies for organizing and hosting this event! It was a wonderful chance for students to explore job opportunities in their local community. The third-grade classes from Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary attended a field trip to The Little Red School House in Coeymans Hollow recently. Mr. Brooks shared stories and answered the many questions that the students had. School was a lot different many years ago!
High School Spanish classes celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with exploratory presentations
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month -- running from September 15 to October 15 every year, the month celebrates and recognizes the history, culture, and contributions of the Hispanic community in America and around the world! Students in Ms. Whyte's Spanish classes celebrated with presentations that provided an opportunity for students to spend time exploring and appreciating different Hispanic cultures and communities.

MS PTSO -- Fall Community Craft & Vendor Fair: On Sunday, October 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come join the MS PTSO for a fun day for the whole family! Ravena Robotics -- Frese's Chicken BBQ: On Tuesday, October 18, with pick-up from 3:30- 6:30 p.m. This fundraiser is to support our amazing robotics team! This team is made up of 8-12th grade students who design and build a robot to compete against other schools in a robotics challenge. We use all funds for parts and competition fees. Meals cost $15 and include a half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, corn on the cob, buttered roll, and cookies. Contact Information: Jared Bevington at jbevington@rcscsd.org
Pancake "Brinner" @ Silver Spoon Cafe -- Class of 2025: Please join us on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Silver Spoon Cafe for a Pancake "Brinner!" For take-out orders, please use the QR code on the flyer (click here) - pick-up is from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m. If you prefer to dine in, please order at the restaurant. Class of 2024 -- Stadium Seat Cushions: The Class of 2024 will be selling seat cushions at soccer games, football games, and other sporting/spirit events for $15.00. The cushions come with a built-in handle and have the RCS logo printed on them. You can find representatives from the Class of 2024 at upcoming games in order to purchase. Class of 2023 -- Bottle and Can Collections: Bring your empty bottles and cans to Just Makes Cents at 2381 Route 9W in Ravena and ask them to apply your total to the Class of 2023 account.
