Week in Review & Upcoming Events
This week is Mental Health week and we have a number of different activities for our students to support positive mental health! We will have some regulation strategy draws, a Good Morning Challenge, and some staff might be getting a little ice from the USC Ice Bucket Challenge!
Our grade 8 students are going to the Skills Canada competition on Thursday to see so skills and trades in action. This field trip connects directly to our second goal on our School Education Plan: "Intentional focus on supporting students to develop and recognize how their student learning is building transferrable skills that will benefit their life outside of school.". We are excited for our grade 8's to see the many skills and trades in action!
馃ぞ Our Track Meet is coming up on May 14 and we are looking for parent volunteers. If you are interested in helping during this very fun event, please email tristan.gerrie@eips.ca or braden.kuny@eips.ca. Thank you in advance for your support!
Please ensure that you have completed the 2025-26 Programming and Homeroom Request form and if you have not yet, please do so as soon as possible to help us with planning for next year. We have had 265 students/families for next year and we thank you for helping us with this planning!
Sincerely,

Bike Theft Prevention
馃毑 With Spring here and many students choosing to ride their bikes to school, I wanted to share some tips to protect your bicycles from theft. Theft of a bike can take just minutes, but the inconvenience and financial loss will last much longer.
Please consider the following tips:
路 Never leave your bike unlocked in public.
路 Never lock your bike by the front wheel only.
路 Consider the use of two quality locks: use a U-lock and a cable lock. By using more than one style of lock it will take thieves two types of tools and twice as much time to steal your bike.
路 Take the extra step and remove the seat or a wheel as an extra deterrent.
路 Avoid leaving your bike on or in your vehicle.
路 If storing your bike at your residence, store it in a safe location using a lock or on your property inside a locked area.
路 If you are leaving your bikes in the back of a vehicle, lock them to your vehicle. Choose appropriate places to park.
In the event your bike is stolen, there are a few things you can do to police identify your bike:
路 Record serial numbers (regardless of the value of the bike) so that they can be added to police computer records, helping bikes be identified if located.
路 Photograph your bike, as a reference, to assist police in identification.
路 Most bike stores keep serial numbers and information of your purchased bike. Check with your local bike shop to obtain that information if your bike does get stolen.
