Another great week to be a Greenwood Grizzly! ππ
Hello Greenwood Families,
We had an amazing week filled with learning, community building, and celebration. Yesterday, we came together for an all-school assembly to focus on our core values: respect, responsibility, and safety. Mrs. Donahue and Mrs. Konieczki joined me in a skit, modeling ways to pause and think when weβre upset, rather than reacting with our hands. This helped students understand how to show these values during misunderstandings. The students were thrilled to sing along to our PBIS song with Mrs. Brian, which added a fun, memorable touch!
Ask your child about the assembly and what they learned about handling conflicts with respect and responsibility. Continuing these conversations at home will help reinforce these important values. Thank you for partnering with us to support our students!
In partnership,
Reba McNally, Greenwood Principal

Masked Mascot - PBIS Incentive
Iβm excited to share that students can now apply to be the "masked mascot"! This opportunity is for students who demonstrate exemplary behavior reflecting our values of safety, responsibility, and respect. Those selected will dress as our mascot, with this fun event taking place monthly at the start of the school day.
To apply, students will need references from both a parent and a teacher. Applications will be available in the main office or in your childβs classroom beginning next week. Please remember that if your child applies and is not selected, I will keep their application on file for future consideration.
The selected student each month will be revealed on our broadcast, where we will also share the reasons for their selection. Attached is the application so you can see the process.
Thank you for encouraging your child to embody our core values, and I look forward to seeing who will take on this exciting role!

Safety & Security
Below is an outline of our new entry procedures for the all Lakeview buildings districtwide, which will take effect on the first day of school (August 26th). These updates are being implemented to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
New Procedures:
Entry: To maintain security, no adult can enter the main office without an appointment or scheduled event. Families must remain outside and show their IDs to the camera for the secretaries to verify via PowerSchool records.
QR Code: A QR code will be posted with information about specific situations or scenarios. When scanned, the QR code will direct you to a form, which will be reviewed promptly, and an appointment will be created if needed.
Student Early Pick-Up: If you need to pick up your student(s) early, please come to the main office and show your ID through the camera at the entrance. Youβll then wait outside for your student to be dismissed. The secretaries will document the pick-up, including the reason and time.
Dropping Off Items: If you need to drop off something for your student(s), a green cart will be available in the vestibule. This is where you can leave items like lunches, gym shoes, etc. We will provide markers and masking tape so you can label the item.
Scheduled Meetings: If you have a scheduled meeting, Mrs. Dani will confirm your appointment via our speaker system and check that it is on the schedule. Feel free to call ahead to confirm or schedule an appointment.
As we implement these new procedures, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding. Our priority is to keep the building safe while ensuring you have a positive experience at Greenwood. These measures are designed to minimize variables and enhance the security of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation!

All students have access to free breakfast and lunch, every day! Breakfast will open at 7:45am in the cafeteria before school begins each day.
